    03. I love to complain, especially on TNL.

    04. Id like Jeremy a lot more if he could actually add insight to topics instead of "this game looks fantastic, instant purchase" in every thread, and "What a great game. Classic. 10/10" in every review.

At least your willing to admit exactly what I was thinking.

Just about every site I've seen that reviews Genesis games (all 2 of them) does like a hundred games on one page, giving only a sentence or two for each game. How do you review a game properly if you only dedicate less than a paragraph or so to it?

I want to offer comprehensive, in-depth reviews, something other sites don't. That, along with the screenshots, hopefully offer enough info for readers to make an informed purchase (download?). About 75% of them are around 700 words, which is enough to give some detail about all the major areas (graphics, sound, game play, etc).

There are currently about 73 reviews by 14 contributors, so there's a variety of opinions to be found. There are some crap games reviewed (Sword of Sodan, Awesome Possum), so it's not all 9s and 10s.

  3. i really enjoy the site so far Melf. keep up the good work.

Yes, it's better than having to depend on Genesis Collective or Gamefaqs. I just go down through each review thinking "Quick. Get to the gameplay bit."

  5. Yeah great job Melf!!!

  6. very cool site! i enjoyed browsing through.

man, now i want MUSHA more than ever. no used game stores ever seem to have it though, and the cart is looking pretty steep on ebay. for a copy thats not all written on. maybe im too picky!

    must...play...MUSHA!

also i need a new genny. the Nomad sucks it.

  7. The URL is active! Now you can access the site directly through www.sega-16.com. The old one still works though.

    Nothing really odd about it.

Lhadatt was setting up his URL for Melf's official URL - http://www.sega-16.com. The propigation hadn't taken place for some people until the other day.

  10. So, this past Thursday, Sega-16 turned 10. Damn, it's really been that long? We've reviewed all 32X games, virtually all Genesis games, and most Sega CD games. I'm thinking of expanding coverage to Saturn or Master System. I've also recently begun to get kind of serious with the YouTube channel.

What I really find interesting is that while retro gaming has exploded over the past decade or so, the amount of retro sites online have not. In fact, many that were around when I started are gone. The Genesis Collective, The Genesis Project, and a few others have gone offline. Eidolon's Inn goes offline this Saturday, as well.
