Thread: Street Fighter Creator Leaves Capcom, No More 2D Fighters after Fighting Jam

  1. Street Fighter Creator Leaves Capcom, No More 2D Fighters after Fighting Jam

  2. I thought the creator of Street Fighter had already left Capcom to form his own company called Akira, the company that made the 3d Street fighter games.

  3. Now he can go and work for someone who will actually appreciate his skills, and more 2D fighters can spring forth from his bring.

Oh and this is also a sign of how Capcom is going down the toilet too. Along with Nintendo. And Konami. And Namco. Is there any doubt that Japanese development is inferior to Western now?

  4. Wow, this'll hurt Capcom.

Now where will we get our 2D fighters from? Guess SNK/Playmore better step it up with some new goodness, or all we'll be playing new will be GG Isuka.

Not that GGI is a bad option or anything...

    I don't see how.

They've gone for years now just milking 2d games that have been out for awhile, and outside of CvS 2 and now Capcom Fighting Jam (which isn't even something NEW), Capcom has only used it's 2d as a quick dollar to make.

If Capcom had really cared, we'd have gotten SF 4 by now. And no more 2d fighters after Capcom Fighting Jam? Way to end a legacy on such a shitty note, Capcom.

I wouldn't be surprised if he left because of how Capcom has totally shitted on 2d. I mean, I'd get pissed if I just had to keep whoring out the same sprites over and over without ever contributing anything new in the last 5 years.

That was primarily the team that made SFII, IIRC. Which apparently didn't include the creator.

  8. So much for that 20th anniversary SF.

  9. The person Error ir reffering is Akira "nin nin" Nishitani, one of the creators of the Street Fighter series, and the company he created is named Arika.

  10. Maybe he is going to join Okamoto's new company. Things are definately getting a shake up over in Japan.
