Ooohhh... One of my favorite genres.
Here goes, no order:
Shinobi III (just might very well be the best one on this list)
Viewtiful Joe
Gunstar Heros
Sillouette Mirage
Maximo (The only 3D game I'd even consider putting on this list)
Metal Slug 3
Bionic Commando GBC
Castlevania IV
Dracula X (Turbo Duo)
Megaman II
Yup...I think I can confidently stand by that list. Although I might consider replacing Sillouette Mirage with Earthworm Jim 2 SNES depending on the alighnment of the moon and other random factors.
Well....While IV is easily better than Bloodlines I can see how Bloodlines has a ton of fans.Originally Posted by Shin Johnpv
I guess I'll throw in some honorable mentions:
The original "Bonk" (If you consider it a propper fit for the genre)
The Legendary Axe
Sparkster (SNES)
Contra: Hard Corps
Contra III
Metal Slug X
Yes on both counts. Entirely different games from top to bottom. Controll, maps, sprites, sound...everything.Originally Posted by kuro

My personal opinion is that Sparkster (the SNES version of Rocket Knight) is better. In fact, I love Sparkster. One of those games that does everything right.

Cool game, but one of my least favorite of the series. The best pure CV game obviously belongs to Dracula X. Anyone who has played it, knows why.
)about the Genny Konami games owning the SNES ones. Although I think Contra III is closer to Contra HC than Super Castlevania IV is to Bloodlines. CV Bloodlines is just the way Castlevania should be IMO.
