My wife and I went out to see "The Notebook" last weekend. The theater was packed with middle-aged to elderly women. Watching in disbelief as the protagonist hooked the girl with the most conceivably trite pick-up lines, I later warmed up to the movie, as it became a captivating story about how an elderly couple can cope when one falls victim to Alzheimer's disease. If you liked "Big Fish" and have a date, you might like this one, too. Thumbs up.
Caught this with my girlfriend last week. Definately not a fan of the device of "old person looking back over their life" being the entire framework of the movie.
