ok thats kidding, but its true, people like cosby have to say things like this, due to the fact that in discussions of race, white people are accorded a kind of "bad guy" status and discredited for not just understanding, the serious call for change has to come from a strong and influential member of the arican american community. thats what makes people like sharpton and jessie jackson so irritating to me, they have a position of power, but they just keep pusyfooting around the issues of responsability and self control. It bothers me because it seems like a betrayel of hard working, intelligent african americans who have worked hard and left their mark on the world and seen themselves exiled from the representative black community because of it. are allen Iverson and snoop dog really better role models than Colin powell or Clarence thomas?

But as I said earlier, it takes more than one sole individual to be in control of the upbringing of child. It takes parents, schools, even the whole neighbor to be responsible for that childs growth and advanment. And if they go sour or by the way side, EVERYONE is to blame. No pointing fingers.

When I was a kid, when you smart mouthed an adult, your ass was getting whooped. Now places like schools, can't send you to the principles office, for a nice reminder from Mr. Board with holes in it, who's in charge.

I gaurantee, in places like Bosnia, these kids are'nt worried about being cool. They learned responsible living quickly.

Kids of today, especially in America, are spoiled brats. Most don't have a concept of money and could care less about where or how it comes to them. Then you have households with Mom and Dad going their seperate ways. Kids usually end up with mom and dad is the guy they see on weekends. If I got smart with my mom, she'd remind me that dad would be home at 5 to straighten me out. Society has really gotten too soft on thier children.

There's a difference between being a pussy and being considerate.

  6. Yes, and "being considerate" has been doing a wonderful job thus far.

  7. Whatever.

I'm done with this. What was said was said and whatever happens happens.

I'm sick of fighting about this.

  8. Opaque its nice that you want Bill Cosby to be nice and throw people a softball, but you gotta realize that he's mad. He was alive for the Civil Rights Movement (which you were not) and he sees it all being thrown away because black youths think its cool to call each other nigga, join gangs, drop out of school, waste all their money on big rims, not learn how to speak properly, etc.

Bill Cosby is a black man who rose above the situation of the day. He now sees black youths giving up. He's mad as hell. You got to cut him some slack and realize that yes, he knows more than you and he's been through more.

  9. There is a difference between being scared and saying the truth also. I think people need to say how they feel instead of trying to doll everything up to make sure that no group might be slightly offended or hurt. What is Cosby doing by saying these things? Causing conversation, and finally challenging black minority groups to look introspectively instead of attacking the white man. I personally think it is good advice for lots of groups out there.

    *edit*
    haha...you lost, loser.
