Thread: Tribes : Vengeance

  1. Yep. The auto-aim feature makes me sad.

  2. It's now up at Fileplanet. Servers are bogged down, of course.

  3. I've tried the beta and T:V is a huge disappointment.

Really, to make this game great, all they had to do was keep T2, upgrade the engine, graphics, and add some new gimmicks. Isn't that what every fps does now? cause it works.

T:V is a dumbed down tribes. It has some great new additions like the buckler, grappling hook, speed pack and active/passive pack attributes. But... I'll just list the downers.

    - health kits are gone
    - the inventory station has taken a step back from T2 (why would they do this? the t2 system kept n00bs from hogging the station, and allowed you to make dozens of personalized outfits)
    - the sniper rifle now takes ammo+energy (only 10 shots) and has horrible trigger lag (the thing is a piece of shit now)
    - Chaingun is no longer a chain whore (unless you have speed pack activated)
    - Vehicle pad spawns vehicles after a pre-set amount of time has passed
    - Above doesn't matter cause the vehicles control like uber shit.
    - Game has an insane amount of bugs/glitches.
    - Mortor is now pussy, crappy explosion, with a little whistle noise, and only 10 shots since ammo pack is gone.
    - Energy pack doesn't increase energy.
    - T:V adds a new "ski" button, which basically causes you to lose ALL traction. You can literally "float" and slide around the ground if you just stand still and hold it. This can get you really moving, but you CAN'T change directions. So if you are a following a capper, and you hit a clump of dirt that slides you to the right, you either have to lose all momentum and stop skiing to change directions, or just start flying to the right.
    - With the chaingun and sniper rifle down, catching a capper is increasingly difficult.

The beta has some really crappy small maps, and I want to think that some bigger maps with lots of buildings for grappling will help, but I know that this game has more problems than the maps.

Aslo, why did they even bother with single player? The point of Tribes has always been multiplayer. I don't give a shit if some people enjoy single player. Go play Doom or Half Life, not tribes.
