ESPN NFL 2005 to be released on July 20th

I don't think it's pointless, and if it is, it's no less pointless than saying "well it's the best console service". Unlike his point, that has nothing to do with NFL 2K5.

My point there is that whenever there is something negative to be said about Xbox or Xbox LIVE you can always count on Mamoscott to pounce in and yell it to the rafters. That's not critique, that's just spitefulness.

To be perfectly honest, playing Madden 2004 online via the EA's PS2 network immediately after its launch last year was far smoother than these first weeks on Live following ESPN 2K5's release, which is kind of odd considering there are a lot more Madden players and EA's PS2 online service is free.

Perhaps to you, but many people I know had a bevy of problems just logging in to the service. It was far from perfect, but if you like that so much then I encourage you to go play that instead. Why? Because your complaints here are pointless seeing as VC is working to remedy the problems with their online service, what more do you want from them? Ubisoft had a few problems with Pandora Tomorrow's online when it first shipped, and they searched out and fixed each of those problems, and now the game runs fine. So, can we maybe give VC and MC the benefit of the doubt atleast until the patches are made?

NCAA Football 2005 had quite a bit of trouble for the first couple weeks. There are just a few bugs in the process of having external servers to the Xbox Live servers, it seems.

If Live portion is all you care about, don't buy the game the first week of release. Wait a couple of weeks for the company to work out the kinks. I am enjoying the 1p of the game and practice to be better before getting slaughtered online. So this is all good.

What team are you using mog? I assume Greenbay, try using Carolina once and kinda stay in the bear defense formation with man coverage. Play as a linebacker and spy the running back, this should completely shut him down, Their passing game is really good also if your timing is on, and Stephen Davis is a machine on outside runs. Try all of this and let me know if you still suck and I'll hook up with you online and try to help you out some more, later.

The commentary gets badly drowed out by the PA if you use custom sound tracks. Just drop the PA volume.

While this is good advice, just take the NFL team and play as them and try to see if you can't win. That team makes the game so simple, plus it makes it real easy for you to learn everything since everyone on that team has awesome stats.

Did you do any of the scrimmages/training? They really help your running/passing game. I use New England, they have an awesome secondary and can shut down most passing attacks. I play on All-pro, use 3-4 formation and call mostly 3 strong/soft type plays and I ended up with 5 interceptions in 1 game (against the Rams). Not too good at stopping the run tho.
