The difference between pro and all pro is almost to large of a gap. Pro just seems to easy, but all pro can be very difficult just starting out.

I had that problem a little. And when I got the updated rosters they weren't actually updated at all My Cowboys were still lacking Eddie and had some injured and cut players still on the roster.

Nice.

And it seems that no one ever wants to play a game online. I issued numerous challenges last night and none were met.

I got the Superbowl in my first season with the Lions. I had to face to the Colts in which blew them out earlier in the season. This time around was a different story, as Edgrien James was a machine. Colts went up 17 - 3 at half time. By the 4th quarter it was 20 - 17, Colts still ahead. With 1:45 left in the game, I drive down the field and kick a field goal, its all tied up 20 - 20 with 45 seconds left. Colts get the ball and Manning throws a 34 yard pass, putting them in my 40. With 11 seconds left Manning throws it again and its picked by the Lions Brain Walker and takes to the house for the game winning score! Damn, that was the best game I have played yet. Great stuff.

That's pretty awesome! I love close games that you can pull out to win! But then again, I like blow outs too, I just destroyed the Cardinals with the Patriots in their 2nd game.... 59 - 0 (Brady shredded the secondary). On all-pro difficulty, no less.

I just finished the preseason with the Pats and want to start the regular season. It tells me, however, that I need to get under the cap (I'm at 100%) and have a maximum of 54 players (which I have).

What do I need to do to get under the cap? Release some players to free agency? Renegotiate contracts for more years at lower pay? What do I do? Help!

It sucks that the manual spends more pages on FP football than the freakin' franchise mode. Jeez.

Just release a player with a penalty lower than thier salary for that year, or renegotiate with a player that has 0 penalty since when you renegotiate you eat that penalty. There is an online manual on espnvideogames.com and i know there is one in the game as well, eiither way you'll get the hang of it easily after a few experiments.
