    This.

That system itself is what saves this from being a really bad pseudo FP-RP-S. ES gets away with it thanks to the lack of firearms, but Fallout would be trash without the updated AP battle system.

I love the interaction with the NPCs, even random ones that thank you for whatever, and find myself struggling not to randomly kill the ones that are total bastards. <3<3

Some random guy, Sam Somthingorother, started shooting at me while I was running to the Super-Mart. A few well placed laser pistol charges sent him running, but I didn't have the heart to track him down and finish the job figuring it was a case of mistaken identity. OR WAS IT?!

  2. Ok, I'm not understanding the terminal hacking mini game thingie. I just cleared out the Super Duper Mart and entered the pharmacy, where there's a robot in there waiting to be hacked. More raiders have returned and know something's up, but I don't know how to hack the terminal.

    Wuts I gots ta do?

  3. Got both LBP and Fallout 3 yesterday and I am so in love with this, I really have no interest in LBP right now. Thankfully I was at least smart enough to play 2 hours of LBP prior to put Fallout 3 in.

I was not able to figure out the password, but I gave it a couple shots, reloaded the game and tried again, still didn't find the right one. Apparently if you find a log book or optical disc thing and read or hear the password in it, you will automatically enter it, otherwise it's a guessing game.
I came across a similar situation later in Greyfeild(?) or something (the place infected by fire ants with the kid) and I was able to hack the computer because of a note I read right before trying it. I'm thinking maybe I missed something at the Super Mart that had the password in it, but I've scoured that place hear to toe.

  5. The hacking minigame is ok but its not easy (atleast at my science level). Its kinda like mastermind but with words and letters. If you look you'll notice all the choices are the same length, and alot of the words are fairly similar. When you pick a word thats incorrect, it'll tell you how many letters in that word are in the correct answer, so it becomes a game of deduction (and even still, theres a reasonably high amount of chance involved).

For instance, say the password is CELLAR, and you pick one of the other choices, say COLLAR, it will say you got 5/6 letters correct. Another choice, BALLER, would also say 5/6, so you can pretty safely deduce that The correct answer would definitely have the letters L,L,A, and R, and has one of C or O and one of B or E. The only answer which fits this criteria is CELLAR, so that must be the password.

On a different note, Black Widdow / Lady Killer is a fucking rad perk. I sexy-sweet talked a hooker into giving me the bar guys computer password, so i didn't have to do his shitty quest to advance the main plot.

The hacking game is weird though. It's not letters in the word, it must be letter and position.

  7. Pretty sure its just letters, could be wrong though, only successfully did it twice.

I just pickpocketed a key from him for the cabinet next to his computer, and the password was in there. That cap-grubbing motherfucker can eat my entire ass.

It's letter and position. So if it says 5/7 correct, then you got 5/7 letters in the correct position.

Pfft I took that guy's sniper rifle. VATS puts the RPG back into my RPGS. ES needs it. Blowing heads off is awesome.

YOU CAN MOVE WHILE OVERENCUMBERED! I'm currently walking back to town with a ridiculous amount of shit LOL. I wish you could fast travel while overencumbered though.

I love this game so far, I don't care that it's brown. Inventory is about as good as it will ever be for a Bethesda game. The only thing that sucks so far is facial animation/lack of.
