Next week, Circuit City is going to be selling this game for 44.99, and it'll be in stores August 6th (Tuesday).
It'll be in their weekly ad, and I'm pretty sure their main competitor Best Buy will offer a "less than MSRP" price as well.
A heads up for everyone wanting to save 10 bucks.

But the community alone is half the reason to buy this game. The amount of fan-made crap for this game will be absolutely massive. Might as well buy the original Half-Life for a console.

Check your local Gamestops. Apparently it is shipping tommorow, and some stores may be getting it on saturday. I do not know if there is a solid street date, but I've confirmed this at my GS, and a bunch of people online are reporting the same thing at their local stores. EB still says next week.

i'd like to take this opportunity to give a big "fuck you" to ati. i ordered an x800 xt on june 6th, and it still hasn't come in.
(and if anyone is in a similar situation, i've heard from several sources that the cards will likely be in major retail stores on or around august 12th. at least we won't miss the half-life 2 launch)
