Well it's not as thorough and I don't think there is user submitted info butOriginally Posted by Andrew

That site is pretty cool but I just hate how the information pages look so bland and boring.
It's got a bit of a character database and that's cool.
I like Mobygames too, diff. Allgame has info on older, more obscure games/consoles though.Originally Posted by diffusionx

The site isn't close to being done, up or finalized. There's no possible way anybody could give the sites future at this point in time. Also, this isn't constructive criticism it's nay saying. Telling someone to give up isn't constructive. He's going to try, either way, he's asking for ways to make the site better and a cut above.Originally Posted by diffusionx

They're answering questions he didn't ask. I think that's why he's writing it off at this point. (except perhaps that the name isn't good. But "It sucks" isn't constructive) Mzo had a good idea with naming the site something geekily clever, and that should be looked at.Remember, people at TNL are your audience. If people at TNL dont think its a good idea and a waste of effort, why are you writing them off just because theyre not telling you what you want to hear?
I searched for Miyamoto and it brought up a pretty good facsimile of what I wanted, but it didn't list his gameography. But this is kind of what I want, just more comprehensive. We don't have that yet, and it would be a great resource for journalist and fans.Originally Posted by soundwave
Moby Games is good, but even their information about the games is limited, and also it doesn't have every single game listed. They don't have Donkey Kong for the arcade.
This is exactly the kind of site that need to be done justice (Mobygames). I think the ideas on bolt 3 are there, you just have to organize it in a logical and great way that's easy to navigate. Also, add the character library. The Top 250 listing is along the lines of what I'm talking about.
Just keep plugging at it and you're going to have a great resource.

Ultimately, bottom line, pixelassassin told us his idea, we clearly do not like it and dont think it does something that we dont have elsewhere, and he got his ego bruised and his tiles stolen.
Melf's Sega-16 site is filling a niche that no real good site on the internet is doing. pixel's proposal for Bolt 3 is exactly what other sites on the internet do, and do just fine. Anything added to GameFAQs is just icing, and well I dont think its worth it to spend hundreds and thousands of hours on icing. Especially since CJayC has devoted his life to that site. Just the fact that his basic proposal is "GameFAQs + 100" is a flawed start. Its like saying I want my movie to be "Return of the King + 100" or my music CD to be "Exile on Main Street + 100".
So, pixel, if you wanna waste your time on this site, good luck to you, but I think the responses in this thread speak for themselves.
MobyGames is entirely user-driven. If you dont like the fact that Donkey Kong isnt in there, go ahead and add it.They don't have Donkey Kong for the arcade.
And if you think this is shitty, or cheesy, or whatever, look at Wikipedia. It works the same way and is an unbelievable resource.
Actually, it's been mentioned so much that I'm kind of used to it being called Bolt 3 now.
So yeah =X
HA! HA! I AM USING THE INTERNET!!1

The name doesn't really flow. It's the '3', makes it sound like a sequel or follow-up to something that existed before, which it isn't, and 'bolt' is just too basic. 'Thundaga' would sound a little better, if you want to stick with the same reference... I'd say if you want to go with the RPG spell name, look over lists of ones from different games and try to pick the one that sounds the most sporty and catchy. If I think of or stumble on anything particularly good, I'll let you know.
