iPod Remixed

Well I got A ipod today, but sadly not a new one. Grandparents got me one as a belated b-day present and its a 15 gig 3rd gen. Nothing to be too upset about considering all my 180 cd's only takes up half of the 15 gigs and I can always get the AA battery thing for it on long plain trips and such.

I still love mine, so I'm not upset bout getting it before the upgrade.

And the Belkin AA battery pack is a wonderful thing to have around if you're going to have it for prolonged use away from an outlet.

I got the $500 40gig iPod about a month ago. Wish I had waited a bit.

i bought the same one back in december. thing is, i got it from best buy, with the purchase plan. it cost $75 extra, but if anything happens to mine, they'll give me an equivalent replacement. since the old ipods will be completely out of stores within a few months, i might be able to get a new model with the replacement plan. yes, i'm a horrible human being.

Quick question. I have a 15 gig ipo but when I go into settings and then about, it says the capacity is like 13.8 gigs. Is it suppose to be a bit less then 15?

yeah, mine lists itself as having 3 or so gigs less than advertised. the same thing happens with pc hard drives. has something to do with how the extra space is calculated. i used to know why, but i haven't been in that computer science course in a while..

Disk manufacturers advertise their hard drives as 1 meg = 1000K.

But everybody knows that, really, 1 meg = 1024K.

There should be some sort of regulations against this advertising, I reckon.

Haha, you're so not cool. Anyone whose anyone knows the 4th generation iPod's are all the rage these days. Sorry. You just can't be sexy. =( Crow always winds up with the short end of the stick.

The front of these things get scratched up real easily. I've just been carrying mine inmy pocket and already it ahs some nasty scratches.

Wow, I couldn't imagine how many albums it would take to fill 40G's let alone how long it would take to rip all those albums onto the computer.

That would be "more than I can count" and "a very long time," respectively.

EDIT: A side note would be that I encode at 192 in iTunes and all of my pre-iTunes rips were at 320.
