What is the extra work they are putting into this game that other fighting games lack?

I wasn't talking about fighting games specifically, but games in general. How many companies, when they gives us remakes, actually put a serious amount of work into them? Not many, I'd say. And with Ninja Gaiden, they heard the complaints some had about camera issues, and actually did something about it.

Just seems to me that, at least lately, Team Ninja has put a lot of work into their products to give fans something worth buying. For example, compare what they are doing with DOAU's online play - where you can queue in line, watch fights you aren't a part of, etc. - compared to pathetic attempts at getting games online, such as Capcom vs. SNK 2.

It's not Capcom or SNK's fault that DoA had so much more room for improvement.

Er, I'm on the pro-Itagaki side of the fence, but that made zero sense. Of course people are going to write off games they don't enjoy. They just don't need to do it so publicly, obnoxiously, and interminably.

What I think he meant was that people can dislike the game, but can still also appreciate the fact that the creators put a lot of work into it. I think Mario64 is a snoozefest, but I can still appreciate what Miamoto and co. did with the game.
