Thread: Mortal Kombat Deceptiom multiple fighting style...

  1. Thumbs Down Mortal Kombat Deceptiom multiple fighting style...

Well, i was very excited about MK: D when it was announce back then, i must say i really hated the multiple fighting style in MK: DA, i just ddint feel it gave the game much depth, instead it made it very tediouse to fight using different fighting styles, plus the fact that i had to learn the ins and out of each one. ofcourse, not to mention that ever since MK DA midway changed the commands completely compared to MK1,2,3.

anyways, i downloaded a new vid of MK: D and to my surprise, the damn and god aweful multiple fighting styles are back! i was really lokoing forward to MK D but now midway has ruined it once again! why can't they just get it right? ever since MK2, there hasn't a good MK game. anyone feel the same way here?

    share your thoughs,

No. There has never been, and never will be, a good MK game.

  5. You lie Yoshi !!!!!

And, multiple fighting styles didnt bothered me in DA. Sure, you have to get used and learn them, but dont you have to learn the techinques in every other fighting game to get better anyway?

Depends on what you consider "good" I guess. Games that are 7s or worse are not good to me, and MK is about a 5 in its best form.

  7. Mortal Kombat games are like B-Movies. They've never been the best representation of the fighting genre, but are highly enjoyable on the cheese-level.

A game doesn't have to be perfect to be fun.

  8. I am looking forward to MK: Deception for the same reason Im looking forward to DOA:Ultimate. Because I dont want to waste my time "learning" a fighting game system or "training" endlessly to become good. Id much rather spend that time learning something like guitar or programming, you know... something useful.

I never spent that much time on Virtua Fighter or Street Fighter or any of those complex games so Im awful at them, and I only like fighting games with easier mechanics. I know Im in the majority, here, too.

And with regards to whether a fighter like Street Fighter or VF is better than MK or DOA, thats a good question. Certainly, SF and VF have more moves and are better balanced to some degree, but really MK or DOAU are a lot more fun for a lot more people. And that has to count for something.

Basically, comparing fighters like SF/VF to DOA/MK is stupid and useless. I dont know why Yoshi feels the need to do it in every thread about DOA or MK. In the same way that RTS games can co-exist with those nichey, hardcore, hex turn-based wargames (or even one like Combat Mission), looser, more fun fighting games like DOA can co-exist with nichey, hardcore ones like SF or VF. And really thats all there is to it.

Oh, but King of Fighters is just trash.

  9. This information was known for a VERY long time.

Once again, another useless thread by Marwan.

I'm disappointed that Liu Kang isn't in the game to bake pies.
