Surgery is a big part of being a doctor in the military.
Especially plastic surgery.
The more work/practice they can get, the better.
I highly doubt this is a recruiting tool, because for one when I talked to the Army and the Marines nobody told me I could get free liposuction, and also because there have only been 500 breast augmentation surgeries in four years. Thats really not that many. If maybe, what, 15% of the 1.5 million soldiers in the US are women, then... 500 out of 225,000+.
And... the only thing they pay for is materials. A breast surgery at a plastic surgeon might cost $3000 but the Army isnt paying $3000 for it.
They need to get their COs permission, remember. Not everyone in the military is in a combat role.And it's a higher risk factor in getting killed, because you don't have a huge range of movement (the boobs get in the way).
