Thread: The Bourne Thread

  1. Film The Bourne Thread

Original BI movie was a pleasant surprise to me. We saw it as a double feature with Brotherhood of the Wolf (which was the main attraction for us that day), and I didnt really expected anything from it, and then it turned out rather intellegent and fun action movie. Damon did great in the action scenes, his MA battle against one of the assassins was quick but nicely choreographed, and not over the top. And there were plenty of other inventive action setpieces, like final showdown at the stairs. It was very well done action movie, where even PG13 rating didnt hurt it much.

The sequel opens up today, and promises more fun adventures of the Jason Bourne. While the director is different, I hope that he keeps the style and seriousness of the original film, and the glimpses of the chases, fights and other action setpieces already make the film look exciting. Alot of players from the first film are back, and this time Bourne is going after CIA, becoming the hunter, rather being the hunt.

I am not sure if I will be able to see it this week, with all the stuff I will have to do, but I definately will try to catch it while it still playing. And I look forward the impressions posted here

Me too. I ended up finding it very entertaining, despite not really being a Matt Damon fan. I'll probably go see this one at some point, though that one line from the commercial about how fast he'll bring the fight to their doorstep is kinda cheesy.

  3. I found Jason Bourne kind of neat. His story was interesting and it's unique to have the good guy have all of these skills for once. I want to see this one but I probably won't. I work nights all this weekend.

  4. I can't wait to see this (hopefully this weekend). The Bourne Identity was one of my favorite movies in 2002, it was way better than most of the other big time summer movies and this looks to be even better in all accounts (in the preview, Bourne got sideswiped in the car!!!).

  5. I'm going to try to catch this in theatres but I heard the direction is awful. Takes things down a notch, but I liked the first one so much I want to see Matt fuck up some more shit (the good kind).

Didn't you notice that line the first time he said it in BI?

  7. most trailers thesedays make you NOT want to see the movie. not only that, even if its a decent looking flick, all the great parts are given away in the trailer. Morons!

  8. Wow. This would have been a really good movie if the directing/editing didn't suck balls! The whole movie was filmed in SUPAH SHAKEY CAMERA MODE IIDX!!!. Somebody needs a:

Seriously, most of the times I didn't know what was going on because the editing was totally messed up. Aside the terrible camera and really rushed ending (and many things left unexplained), it was a good summer action flick.

Damn, what I heard was right .

  10. That sucks. I am usually more lenient towards fast cutting, and shaky camera work than most, so I will have to wait and see this for myself, but still, I wish it was done like it was in original.
