In Japan, people wear hats on their feet and hamburgers eat people!

What it is worse, pure butter, or Conla oil with a little bit of bacon juice in it?

Yesterday, I went to Yoshinoya. Since my wife didn't want me to eat the usual beef curry, I decided to to sack up and try the Pork Bowl set. Much to my surprise, it wasn't bad. Heck I'd probably eat it again, but everything else scares me.

Are there any other good pork foods worth eating? (besides pork chops, anyway)

    Thanks in advance.
Real men eat pork, AND beef. Stop being a wuss and eat it.

    Yeah. Thanks.

  6. Ribs and southern-style pulled pork. All you need.

  7. Southern-style pulled pork swiming in BBQ sauce would be the second greatest form of pork.

  8. Back when my Grandma and Great Aunts were still alive we'd always have a home cooked Southern meal at thier house on Sundays and on holidays. I swear the ham they made was some of the most delicious, tender, mouth-wateringly flavorful meat I've ever tasted. Now that they're gone, I'm left with only the memory, and my tears.

    Damn that shit was good.

Anyway, 7F, the best type of pork is without a doubt ham. A TRUE ham sandwich is something godly. Next time November rolls around introduce your girlfriend to our American custom of celebrating our ancestors domination of America's native peoples with a huge banquet of HUGE delicious food. Then just somehow find or import a turkey, gravy, and a Virginia Ham.
    Time for a change

  9. I'm backing Xeno G up with this one. Pulled pork BBQ sandwiches are incredible. I had a pig roast for my high school graduation party, and we had leftover pig we froze for months. I had so many amazing pulled pork sandwiches from the leftovers of that roast, and we actually ate the majority of the pig that day. Jack Daniels grilling sauce makes an excellent sauce for homemade sandwiches of that variety.

And if you're in Japan, you can't go wrong with tonkatsu, unless someone does something stupid while cooking it. I love the sauce in particular, which I'm told is a combination of ketchup and worcestershire, which sounds pretty nasty to me... but anyway, it's somehow good. I'm not a fan of cooking with pork, but pork chops, pork cutlets, even porketta can be good now and then.

Oh, and I forgot about dumplings. Chinese pork dumplings are killer. Aren't gyoza the same thing? I'm not sure. Anyway, there's plenty of good eating to be had from pigs.
