Maybe because it's not? The people who have any control over Halo2 getting released early are putting in 100+hr weeks right now and will continue to do so until release. Those same people have squat to do with ilovebees.com. I sincerely doubt the person tweaking the lightmaps on The Waterworks is wasting time calling pay phones across the US and putting wav files on the internet for a viral marketing campaign most likely orchestrated by Microsoft, not Bungie.

Wouldn't you think that there's a possibility of a writer or two for the game on it or somesuch? I would imagine most of their job would be done.

Yes, that's possible. But their work is pretty much done on Halo 2, and has been for a bit now. The game is almost purely in the hands of the animators, testers, and coders. ILB isn't slowing down Halo 2's release date.

The Halo Bible. The Halo Bible contains the back story to every single event and character in the Halo universe. Do a search on Eric Trautmann and Halo Bible. The story is already written, it's just being fleshed out by people like Eric Nylund and the marketing group working on ILB.

I was going through ILB and all these other links, and journals, and diaries, and sites. There are easily over 200 pages that could be criptically linked to this shit. I don't know where the riddle and marketing ends and the rest of the internet begins.

I guess it might be cool if you are a HALO junkie as far as the storyline goes, but otherwise if I was one of the people who went to one of these payphones and all I got was a link to open with a girl talking about her immigration officer boyfriend or some shit - (that really doesnt sound like its involved in the HALO story at all)- Id be pissed. Especially because Im sure that more than half of the peole who went to these sites were trying to get some free schwagg or something.

You are answering questions and concernes of mine. I too support Bungie finishing the game and having it released in november, then rushing it to get it out and having it be less than it could be. I was just under the impression that the team was wasting time with ILB istead of the game. Now I know other wise. No harm, no foul.
