It was a half-assed attempt to make The Crucible for a new generation.

Except that The Crucible didn't really take place in 1960, and it didn't try to convince everyone that there really were witches.

  2. I'm sad now.

This movie sounds like shit and I was so looking forward to it.

  3. The movie was fantastic. Although its obviously far from what the trailers set the mood to be, the movie was well written, shot, and casted. It was a good story with a neat twist (although, with my overanalization i almost came to that conclusion before it was revealed).

Good movie, ill easily go watch it again, and take others to watch it.

Man, I'll give you good direction and acting, but NO WAY it was well written. If audiences laughed at the scenes of character dialog, which were not meant as comedy, and with half ass "twist", it was far away from from anything well.

  6. Nobody laughed where I watched it...

  7. I had a long talk with one of my friends that saw it about the twists and story and the like. I'm so happy I didn't go waste my money on it last night.

I'll go see Harold and Kumar tomorrow during the day and theatre hop to this. That way if I want to leave I can and I wont have wasted any money.

    Really?

I was at the biggest theater here in Columbus (holds just shy of 500 people, I think) and it was sold out. We had a ton of people laughing at odd (unintentionally funny) parts of the flick.

Same here, and I was at one of the biggest theatres in Boston sold out. You'd have thought it was a comedy.

  10. Watching this movie once was more than enough. And I thought the ending was pretty out there. Who thinks of shit like that? Most impressive is that the studio kept the secret ending from the public until it pretty much opened. Weird movie that had big dips in quality.
