Racing games. I never liked them until 3D, and they look great in the current gen.
Well heres the question.....
Over the years which game genre do you think has improved the most during the next gen console period? I think it's Racing games cos look at what we've had over the past few years...
Burnout 1 & 2
Project Gotham 1 & 2
F-Zero GX
Mario Kart: DD
SSX 1, Tricky, and 3 (Racing elements in it)
1080 Avalanche
All these IMO are great games. And there may be a lot of other great racing games I haven't mentioned because there the pnly ones I've played. What about you?![]()

No gnus is good gnus.
Racing by far. Along with sports, they are the only games that actually improved when they went 3D.
Also I think RPGs should be considered. Nostalgia aside, a game like KOTOR is far better than Final Fantasy III. Also, there's the whole MMORPG, which while it still is working out the problems, a game like SWG or EQ2 is far better than the early entries like UO/EQ.
Rad Racer > Ridge Racer 1
I'm gonna go with FPS's. With advancement in technology, we final are able to get a true feeling of being in the games. Think Wolfenstein ---> Doom 3.
FPS and Racing. Both got improvements in ways of both gameplay and graphics.
This is tough...
I'd agree with racing games (Burnout 2 is really the first non-kart racing game that I truely loved) and RPGs -- But I'd like to add Adventure/Action games as to this as well.
I think this is the first generation were anyone has felt like games were truly a work of art. Ico, Prince of Persia and Wind Waker all spring to mind as games that go beyond being a play thing and more of an expersion of the creators behind it... especially Ico.
Have you played Beyond Good and Evil?Originally Posted by Geen
I agree. Ico is just like abstract art: fucking worthless.Originally Posted by Geen
