Newly announced DS games

No new Pokemon? That's weird. I don't like Pokemon but it seems like something they'd want to put in there for a DS launch.

This might have been talked about in another thread before , but once the DS releases we probably wont be seeing any new games come out for GBA right? Dont know how I feel about that as I kinda like my GBA. I have a lot of good "old-school" non 3D games for this and would like to see that trend continue release wise.

Also we get MMMBN but no MM Zero for the DS - *Boo* * Hiss*
( I dont HATE the MMBN series I just prefer my Megamans a little more on the traditional side)

The DS can play GBA games, so maybe companies will make all thier 3D games for DS, and all the 2D ones for GBA.
I can't remember, but is the DS getting more support than the GBA had at first? I remember eventually selling my GBA after a while because the only thing out worthwhile was Castlevania: The Dark as Hell Adventure.

Nope only GBA. It's missing the Z80 needed for GB/GBC playback, though the ARM9 could easily emulate it if Nintendo wanted.

The next GameBoy's release really hinges on how DS performs. IF DS is an instant PS2/GBA level success it'll probably get a full 3-4 year cycle like GBC/GBA. If it falls flat, I think we'll see a new GB alongside Revolution in mid-late 2006.

If they were intending to replace the GBA with the DS, they would surely bank on the "Gameboy" name, which they aren't. The DS won't play GB or GBC games.
