Er. What, the part about it not being a tradtional sequel?Originally Posted by MechDeus
What Damian's saying makes perfect sense, in my opinion. The large cast of characters in CC was one of my gripes with the game as well... I would've preferred Square focused on fleshing out the main cast even more, rather than cramming in a bunch of bonus charcters just for the sake of having bonus characters. RPG's are all about story, it kind of detracts from the overall experience to have a bunch of one dimensional characters following your hero around.None in the slightest. They did put all the effort into a primary group of characters, the rest were just people that decided to help. Not every person has some huge life-threatening deal as to why they want to help others or join those who are fighting to save the world. If the entire cast had been that way, sure, I could see your problem, but they weren't. There was a focus on the few that the story revolved around and then there were those who tagged along for the ride, not every soldier who fights in a war is doing so because of a personal relation to who they're up against.
Now your "sword/stick" analogy, that doesn't make sense. Weapons aren't the main focus of the game, they can afford to be shallow and plentiful.
