Thread: Six dead over an Xbox?

  1. I'm gonna trade in my xbox, it's too much of a liability.

This just about covers evey decent argument for removing the death sentence. There are enough innocent people in jail as it is and no attempt at justice or closure for the family of a victim can justify the death of an innocent man.

  5. You dont understand. This is about the gold chain fever.

If the Xbox wasnt the focus of the last crime, this one wouldnt be reported as OMG Xbox stabbing.

How interesting that so many ppl here are advocating life imprisonment b/c it inflicts greater pain and suffering on a living human being...
    Thats not my reasoning, chief.

When someone has to stay in jail for the rest of their life as a consequence of their violent crime, they have plenty of time to think about what they have done and its aftermath. Death is too kind. Life in prison is just right for violent offenders. Terry Nichols deserves to have the rest of his life to ponder what he has done, who he has hurt, and the fact that he would not have gone there if he didn't do the deed.

If a wrongly convicted inmate is in jail, they can be let out. You can't free a dead person.

the problem with the whole "Give them time to think about what they've done" thing is that traditionally a psychopath does not feel emotion, which is why they commit such horrid murders without the slightest feeling of remorse. Due to this lack of guilt, they don't understand the gravity of the situation, so they just fester in their cell, eventually leaving completely guilt free and as such un-rehabilitated.

and the whole "Death is too kind" angle is fucking stupid too. Once again, its just petty revenge.

without doubt, capital punishment creates more problems than it fixes, but I think under certain circumstances its the most humane option for all involved. Still, in its current state, I'd rather it be abolished than stay.

  8. I support the death penalty... under the superhuman logic that the judicial system doesn't screw up. Which usually... isn't true.

For a case like this, I see it as a plausable case of the death penalty.

Reasons I support that: Not using the Taxpayer's money to give people who would wind up on the street or dealing drugs cash.

Keep people safe in the future from these assholes.

The death penalty of course would be perfect in a perfect world where with a perfect judicial system.

BUT THIS ISNT A PERFECT WORLD!

So how could anyone actually support it? Seriously.

It's like people know the justice system is fucked up, they know innocent people are convicted all the time, they know innocent people are on death row, they know capital punishment is barbaric, racist, politicized, expensive, and inefficient... but they just dont care. Fuck it! Let 'em fry! Sell it for $29.95 on PPV, I'll buy it!
