Thread: Craig Kilborn quits.

  1. Craig Kilborn quits.

Pretty interesting stuff. Especially about Conan.

Personally I think Conan should stay at NBC because he has a good thing going and since Conan's interviews seem to be less about the guest and more about Conan, it would be wierd to have him on at 11:35pm. Not to mention his material would have to be cleaned up.

    What do you guys think?

  2. I'd like conan to stay where he is.

    IBTN
Quick zephyrs blow, vexing daft Jim.

  4. The article touches on the issue of replacing David Letterman, but no one seems to be giving the slightest hint, IN THE SLIGHTEST, that Letterman is about to hang up his hat. Conan wants to replace Leno or Letterman EVENTUALLY, but if doing that meant leaving Max Weinberg and the 7 then I don't think he'd do it. Plus, bring Andy Richter back for it.

I assume that in 15 years TV guidelines would have progressed (or degressed) to the point that the stuff Conan airs would be a little bit tame. I don't know... it's a mess and I'd like to see Conan be on earlier, but they're saying John Stewart's a candidate too, which I don't think is right.

The Daily Show is mostly political and, while most shows do political jokes, they're mostly focused on TV, movies and music.

I don't think Triumph would make the transition to 11:35.

  6. Ya...

That's why I hope to god that if he goes, CBS agrees to give him the flexibility he needs to make his show amazing, like you know he will (even with the guidelines set in place). You said it yourself... Andy left, yet the show is still coming up with bits and skits that are entertaining and as fresh as ever.

He'll do fine if this is how it turns out. Apart of me hates it, but after thinking about it more I think it could be better for everyone if Conan takes the reigns of Lettermans buggy.

  7. Didn't Stewart just sign with CC for more daily show?

  8. IBTN?

    I bought tennis net?

  9. I'm all for Conan moving over to CBS at 12:30, the show would stay pretty much the same and it would put him right after the best 11:30 host. If CBS offers him more $ then I'd say go for it.

It says right there in the article that Dave has no plans to retire at all. I'm sure Conan knows this as well.

Why would him taking over either show mean that he'd have to leave behind Max & the 7. Dave took Paul with him didn't he?

They say he was a candidate. And if Kilborn can make the transition I don't see why Stewart couldn't. Stewart is a damn funny dude.

Hold up... Conan is on later than 11:35 in North America?

Even HBO shows like Sex and the City and the Soprano's are shown before 11:00 on Australian network TV, and I'm not talking about the syndicated versions.
