Thread: New Crotch-Crushing Rumble Roses Images!

  1. for once in my life i'm not gonna be a complete ass(i dont feel like getting banned for a week) and break it down like this:

if you're anal to the point that you will not pick up what could be a high quality product because of something as minute as "walking animations", then you shouldnt purchase it, let alone makie our heads hurt by posting your opinion(which isn't valid, since you openly admit to NOT playing wrestling titles) about it.

let's not forget that almost NO wrestling game(let alone ANY 3d fighting game) has ever had "good" collision detection. dont believe me? take any of the games you mentioned and punch someone in the head or do a throw. 9/10 times there is some clipping of body parts.

whether it's the fist thru the head, or an arm thru someone's waist, there will NEVER be good or even great collision detection. hell...even when they land from anything(throw, slam, juggle, etc) their back clips thru the floor. it's always dependant on the size of the opponent in relation to the size of the player.

now...considering that the SAME company building Rumble Roses is responsible for the WWE(smackdown/day of reckoning) titles that you say have "terrible game mechanics, animation, collision detection, etc", how the living fuck could you expect a quality title(by your own standards)?

oh yeah, i forgot. you dont play wrestling games.

    Ouch.

  3. Oh snap... I do believe that somebody just got their ass handed to them.

That's not an excuse for it to be a suck, though. If absolutely no 3D fighters had good CD, there's a way to make your game not have bad CD. That way is to...wait for it...not make the game. If some have had good CD, then you have no excuse anyway.

And this game still is far from the best the PS2 can do.

3 words describes your whole argument:

    grasping. at. straws.

honestly, "excuse for it to be a suck"? wtf were you thinking? next time try to think out the entire post instead of just inserting yourself into an argument/debate because you feel the need to back someone up, asstard.

ok, now im going to actually HELP you retards that want to complain about this game, by dropping some nuggets of wisdom and insight about things that could actually be a downside to this game.

-read these carefully and be sure to realize that these things are actually important compared to walking animations or clipping issues-

1)lack of match types. when this game ships, it will only have 1on1 normal and 1on1 mud wrestling. no tag, no fatal 4 way, no handicap, etc.

2)assinine voice acting. once again, bribing random people on the street with a six pack of sake and some rice cakes to do the voicework of a game is NOT the way to go

3)no create a wrestler mode. considering there will only be 22 characters(each of the main 11 characters will split into face/heel versions after beating the game), the longevity of the title could be hugely dependant on this factor.

4)gratuitous "in game" cutscenes where one player begs for mercy when their humiliation meter peaks. seriously, NOBODY needs this and it'd be better off for the humiliation meter to "ding" like in every other yuke's wrestling title. this is just a poor mans attempt at inserting softcore hentai into a mainstrream videogame.

now i KNOW that you guys dont have time to go and do research on a subject before bitching about it, i KNOW that you just like to repeat what other people say with your own "flair" and call it an opinion, but how hard is it to go look at some videos/read some previews at any of the more "well known" websites and figure this out for yourself?

ps: for the love of god dont bother posting replies to this. we know you hate the game(for whatever idiot based reason it is), so just take it somewhere else so this doesnt turn into a full out flame war.

It's not just the walking animation. But since that's one thing you'll see your character do like a million times, have some care for it.

I'm not talking about clipping, I'm talking about when I kick someone in a wrestling game, the polygons pass through them, but no hit is registered. Or the reverse, where no contact is made but hits are still registered. I almost never see that in a (3D) fighter.

now...considering that the SAME company building Rumble Roses is responsible for the WWE(smackdown/day of reckoning) titles that you say have "terrible game mechanics, animation, collision detection, etc", how the living fuck could you expect a quality title(by your own standards)?
So sorry I didn't realize that. But to be honest, knowing it came from such pedigree would prejudice me towards it.

oh yeah, i forgot. you dont play wrestling games.
But I would if someone made a good one.

Why don't you just ask him to marry you already?

  7. man, you really give me shit to work with dont you?

ok, real quick like(cause i got shit to do today):

1)hit detection is very dependant on the hit box of the character and the speed of the animation of the attacker. hence that is why some characters attacks miss or go thru on wrestling titles. the other problem is that wrestling titles are in the long run, RUSHED to the market due to WWE having final say over the finished product. the only game i've seen this hit detection problem with lately has been day of reckoning(but that's only on specific running attacks from specific distances).

1.5)maybe you should specify as to where you saw this "poor hit detection" so we dont treat you like a complete ass next time? seriously, i'm not trying to be a dick. give us an example instead of just complaining like a wuss.

2)in actual wrestling(shows/events), walking isnt used as much as it is in a wrestling game. so that could be why it's not really REALLY "taken care of". but on the other hand, since it's a wrestling game and not "shen-mue" or some other extended adventure title where all you do is walk, then it's not a priority. ever.

3)how the hell would knowing that this came from such "pedigree" push you towards it if these guys make games you cant stand(let alone dont play)? lemme guess...it's all GIRL wrestling and they are of the ANIME variety? right?

4)in the long run you have to remember what is high priority in a wrestling title; MOVES. not walking, not collision or hit detection problems, but the MOVES. now i know your some artist or whatever so you think everything has to be character driven, but a wrestling game is NOT character driven. sure, this game might have a story mode. but it's only there to unlock other characters. nobody gives a rats ass about a story mode in the majority of fighters(due to continuity problems and retarded storylines), and it transitions just the same to wrestling titles.

wrestling games are about beating the living crap out of your friends. not nitpicking it because they walk funny. not playing it just for the story mode. not because of it's character design. it's played because of the insane shit you can do to each other in a controlled violent as hell manner.

5)btw...if you dont play wrestling games, how would you ever know if a good one exists without experiencing them for yourself? oooo...that'll make you think for a bit.

6)and yes, shidoshi(like many people here) fucking loves me.

  8. I'm stunned that people actually do play wrestling games for story modes, it's like watching wrestling just for the "compelling" storylines.

  9. Fair enough, I'm not really trying to start anything. One point of clarification though: When I said "character driven" I meant that the whole game is about what your character does. It's all about your character's moves (moreso since different characters, of course, have different moves) and how you use them. Perhaps, "character focused" would have been more apt.

It's not fighting games are exempt from criticism either. VF4 and Tekken's "legacy" animation irritates me as well.

...and I used to work in a video game store that had a stay-n-play setup...naturally, I've been witness to many hours of wrestling game play (haven't really played them since PS1 though). Granted, it was mostly by young kids who didn't know anything except mashing buttons, so that can probably skew one's perspective.

...and yes, this wrestling game piqued my interest since it involves crazy women with big bouncing breasts twisting each other up in serpentine grappling techniques and generally have the most sophisticated 3D "pillow fight" ever created. Seems perfectly valid to me. ; )
