Thread: Official Star Wars Episode II thread - (back from the theaters!)

  1. because soo much of it looked liek it could have been pulled directly from the first Matrix and it didnt give nay insight at all as to what was happening in the next matrix just felt flat to me

  2. I just got back from seeing it the second time.

    I loved it even more.
This is a Star Wars movie for the Star Wars fan. There is so much history made and so many connections revealed.

I must warn you though. The first time I saw it was not in a fully digital theatre. The second time was. The difference is huge. You miss out on so many details. Do yourself a favor and see it digital.

  3. Yeah, Like most of us have that chance 3000 theaters showing fiml version vs 20 in the country, showing it digitally.

    Sadly that is true.

The colors are so much more intense, and the details are mind blowing.

For anyone in range of the Boston area, I'll tell you were I saw it digital.

1 of the 2 screens in Framingham on Flutie Pass, right next to the Natick Mall, is showing it digital.

Make the journey. It's well worth it.

  5. it was a long day, and i waited in line for 3 hours, so i was a little sleepy. during the first half of the movie i kept nodding off, so i might of missed some stuff.

but during the last 45 minutes i was wide awake. who knew that yoda could kick so much ass?

    AND THE MATRIX TRAILER!!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOo-FUCKING-HOOOOOOOOOO!

  6. i cant wait to see it again going on like friday i think to see it digitally

i saw the first oen digitally too and there was a big difference the difference with this one must be huge

since if you see it digitally that means it never hit film stock

    it was filmed digitally
    edited digitally

Personally, I liked the Phantom Menace more, and I'm no big fan of the Phantom Menace. The only two moments of joy I got in the film were the famouse Yoda scene (which had EVEYONE, including me screaming during the whole lightsaber fight), and Obi Wan leaping throught the window at the pod in the beggining. Even those scenes were undermined a moment later: The cgi skyline of Coruscant was jarring, and Yoda's kung fu pose was studip (not to mention how the fight was mostly old men pointing at each other, cgi flying around them while they stay stiff. Heck, it was cool when Yoda grabbed the lighting and fired it back. It was lame when he kept doing it.). C3PO was funny a bit, and the head swapping thing was clever, however, his jokes got tired quick, and they just wouldn't stop. Alot of my negativity could be attributed to not seeing this in a digital theatre (which I dont' know if its digital or not, it still looked good), and I think the surround sound wasn't working properly, the big fights at the end didn't seem to use any surround at all. The Anikin dialogue about sand to Padme was one of the most god awefull peices of dialogue I have ever heard. That one scene was painful to watch. Lots of major holes here: If someone confessed to me they slaughtered women and children and had no remorse; I wouldn't want to be around that person, nevertheless MARRY them. Padme's entire character is thrown out the window with that one scene, and I don't beleive in anything she does anymore. Also, how does Yoda go all the way to Camino, investigates the clones, gathers them, and gets to Geognosis in time to save the others? It just seems impossible. I could go on, but I've made my point. I still had hope in Lucas even after Phantom Menace. I've lost it now. All I hope is that the original trilogy is released on dvd without the Special Editions stuff. I want my work of art a super-rich out of touch old man is so bent on destroying.

Jango Fett. What a badass. I was so upset when he died.
He didn't. It was his clone.

(Remember? He had a perfect clone made of him. I'm guessing that he sends his clone to do his dirty work.)

(edit: Nevermind, Boba is Jango's clone.)

It was my understanding the Boba was the clone you're referring to. His age was just about right, considering his growth wouldn't have been accelerated if Jango wanted to raise him as a son.
