And thought out how Lucas Arts might implement it?

Like the first chase scene, the astaroid scene and the assembly line scene.

Oh and, during the assembly line scene, all I could think about was Oddworld.
I must admit, I was doing the exact same thing. Guess it's not too dificult to do considering both are computer graphics based

After watching the making-of on the EP1 DVD, and seeing them talk about how they created most of the environments, during the scene with Anakin and Padme when they're sitting in the field of grass, I leaned over to my fiancee and said "none of that grass is real".

I wouldn't doubt it, I could see Lucas torturing animators to create life-like grass so he could get it "just the way he wants it", rather than taking them out and sitting them in a damn field.

hey Bahn, you're right. No trailers whatsoever.

I would have liked to see the Matrix trailer also.

I absolutely love Episode II. I have seen it three times now.

Not in this one, though in Phantom Menace I did rather think that the pattern-based shield-doors during the final battle came from Lucas watching way too many video games.

Funnily enough, the only real Attack of the Clones we really have previewed is one based completely on the legion attack forces (and looks really good).

In the movie, one of the things I loved was just how distressed Yoda looked during the entire time he commanded the Clone Troopers, like this was the path he didn't want to take but had no choice. It was perfect when Yoda sounded almost sad when the troop commander told him that they drove off the droid army. Probably my favorite acting bit of the whole movie, almost subtle but showing off so much at the same time.

  5. SPOILERS, obviously.

Please read for a nothing but serious take on Episode II.

As a very serious Star Wars fan, here are my thoughts... I take the films very seriously and they aren't just another movie to me that I say I like... So now you will understand where I am coming from...

It was mediocre. Yes, mediocre at best. I guess I can say it was better than Episode I, but that doesn't make it phenomenal in any way, shape, or form.

The original films have a special "feel" that Episode I certainly didn't have... and Episode II still has not achieved... The originals have such amazing substance... They never got old, were incredibly memorable, and every little thing about the movies was just different and inspiring...

The characters in the originals are so memorable and the story was always focused. The plots strung together well and everything flowed so nicely...

Episode II. Man... I really was hoping this film would blow me away... That is not the case, however. Nothing really felt right. The characters were sorta just there... Nothing they did was truly spectacular or character-defining... The acting was downright poor at points and the dialogue lame... (MACE!)... Sloppy, in other words. Come on, Shmi's death scene was weak as hell. AS soon as you saw her you knew she wasn't gonna make it.. but her lines were just awful. The dialogue for some charaters felt so out of.. character. One line Anakin said in particular in the beginning.. but I don't remember it.

The movie just didn't flow right, either. As soon as they got into something, they immediately cut out. That dream scene? Horrible. Also... Shmi's funeral... They're getting into it a bit and then boom, out. It really wasn't moving... It felt rushed...

I thought there were a few lame conicidences, too...

Of course the friggin movie looked great... it's pratically a given. But then again.. Man... Yoda is just so much cooler as a puppet.... He felt out of character.... Even his speaking.... Way too UNbroken. Some of the monster designs were a bit weak, too.

    Random:

Jango, JUST like Darth Maul.. expected to be blown away by this guy, but he is sorta just there. And his death sucks.... No emotion...

Yes, Yoda was amazing. That is probably the sickest thing you will ever see in any of the six films... ever.

The action wasn't all that spectacular, but yes, of course it looked stellar... The Jedis battling... you don't get to see that everyday.... That was interesting, definitely...

The few connections to the originals were nifty... Like Lars and Beru...

It may be true that Lucas is focusing just a bit too much on the techy stuff.... I am beginning to think that...

I'm sure I have more to say but I just can't think...

I am very sorry to say that Episode II was mediocre...

And I am officially convinced the originals.... Nothing will top them. Nothing will....

  6. Oh yea, of course I will see it again. If not twice or three times more.

Maybe I'll like it more the second time.... But I doubt a lot more, if any.

I gotta agree with you Metal Slug, medicore but with that said the visuals were stunning.

Epsiode 1+2 lacked any urgency, and lost the sense of humor the originals had.

Just my opinion but the original trilogy to me is like the Nes,Super Nes Final Fantasy games Episode 1+2 like Final Fantasy 7+8 on PSX. Anyone get it?

  8. Visuals pretty much mean nothing when you look at the whole picture...

The originals may not "look the best" but this aspect is completly made up for in another sense....

I personally don't even think the originals even look bad at all...

They have a great gritty style..

True but the visuals were one of the only things keeping my attention. Maybe I'm not a big a Star Wars fan as I once was but the pacing unlike the orignal moved at a snail's pace

  10. Seeing Yoda at the end (you know what I mean) was the ONLY good thing about this movie. Oh, and the visuals were pretty. Otherwise, worst movie I've seen this year. Spiderman would kick its ass in a perfect world.
