Thread: Elektra movie

  1. Elektra movie

Heres a link to a page with the Elektra movie preview up :

I really didnt care for Daredevil. Especially the way he turned into a super acrobat from getting nuclear waste in his eyes. No training or nothing

So it shouldnt be hard for Elektra to top it. That and Jennifer Garner is babelicious.

And don't we already have a thread on this? [edit] Guess not, must've been a large part of another thread.

It just didnt make any sense to me how the Daredevil character in the movie was able to all of a sudden be a kid with martial arts prowess, doing backflips kicking the asses of whatever bullies came after him, and pulling off some of the acrobatic shit he did from just getting the waste in his eyes. In the comic books , I think he was trained on how to do all of this and his heightened radar vision just gave him a new kind of edge to use those skills.

But , eh , its a comic movie so realism is out the door anyway...

and yeah - I always do a quick search before I create a thread. I know how much you guys get your panties in a ruffle when people dont. Which makes sense. Who needs the clutter. Or ten threads about 1 subject floating about the forums...

I could be wrong because it's been a while, but I think you're forgetting a few scenes. He got the waste in his eyes, then he trained his ass off, then he fought the bullies again and beat them down.

    Movie was the same way.

Hmm , I dont remember seeing it ,man.

I remember it showed him on top of a roof or something dicking around ,then sliding down a clothsline wire or some shit,
then all of a sudden he went "Bruce Lee" on the kids in the alley. He might've mentioned in a line or something that he trained - but who the hell can teach themselves Kung Fu (or whatever the hell style he knows)?

I do remember in the comics he had some bad-ass ex-ninja named Stick who taught him how to fight, (and also taught Elektra and Wolverine too)?

Im rusty on DD comic knowledge, but Im sure someone on here will correct me if Im in the wrong..

Jetman is right. He was taught by Stick. He also taught Electra.

I too was disturbed by the fact that he got "perfect balance" as a superpower; a by product from his ability to hear well. Also, even though he trained, all of his training was centered around his ability to balance well. If I could balance like Barishnikoff (sic?) I woulnt be able to beat the crap out of people like Bruce Lee.

  7. Saw this a few days ago and posted it over at GN. This movie looks really cool and is instantly going to be better than DD just because they cast my boy, the beast, Bob Sapp.

LOL - yeah this was the same thing I thought as I saw it. I wish the movie wouldve shown him being trained by Stick or somebody. It wouldve made a hell of a lot more sense. Everyone I know who saw the movie couldnt understand how the hell this kid became a mini Lee all of a sudden. I know there is a Directors Cut coming out soon - so who knows maybe it'll elaborate on that more ... but I doubt it.

It looks like in the Elektra movie shes being trained by someone (Stick?) so at least she's a little more believeable of a character.

EDIT : O shit - hehe - yeah I didnt recognize that was Bobb Sapp in the vid. I'm sure he will kick some ass in this. The guy is built like a tank.
