Thread: OPEN CANVAS

  1. OPEN CANVAS

I've recently been introduce to a very small, yet very cool program called OPEN CANVAS and I was just wondering if anyone in here uses it. For those of you, who doesn't know of the program, its a program where upto 4 people can draw on the canvas together, at the same time (via the internet). It's a simple program, but the coloring brushes are awesome and it even has layers. I'm just asking because it'll be nice for like 4 of the tnl members to draw together over the internet because you can learn alot from actually watching someone draw.

  2. openCanvas is pretty much my favorite art program right now. I use version 3plus, it's really slick. I enjoy the networking version (1) a lot, too. Anyway, a lot of my recent art has been done using oC. Have you tried playing around with event files at all? You can basically save your pics to an event file that you can replay, like some of the more advance oekaki bbs boards that are out there. It's really neat, plus if you go to Portalgraphic's User Community, you can download other user's event files, which I think is pretty cool.. check it out. Some of those Japanese artists do incredible stuff, and there's some interesting tutorials, too.

  3. did you purchase the program? I only have the network abled one (really old)

  4. Yeah, I purchased 2 first, so I didn't have to pay the full price for 3... definitely worth it in my opinion... and there's certainly no way I could pay for something like Photoshop, with it's whopping price tag. oC does pretty much what I want, and if nothing else, encourages me to be more creative to get it to do what I want. They have a demo version of 3plus, which is the whole prog and (I think) full capabilities for one month.. then after that, you can't save etc etc etc... so it's certainly worth a try.

  5. we should draw together sometime on the network enabled one.

  6. I've used it a few times, love it, but want to get my tablet working before I give it another go. Hit me up with a PM and we should jam!

That site is awesome, thank you so much!

  8. I just started using this program, and wow is it better than everything else so far. I might actually be inspired to draw something now (yeah right haw haw.)

Does anyone have any other interesting OC sites to share? I'd really like to get good at using this program.
