Man In Suit to fight Emmerich's CG GODZILLA in GODZILLA: FINAL WARS! Oh, hell yes!!!

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with some awesome news. Man In Suit is going to be showing the CGI monstrocity from Roland Emmerich's 1998 GODZILLA flick who's the fucking boss in a smackdown for the ages. The more I hear about this film, the more I'm dying to see it! Read on!!!

Hi guys, "Scorpio" here, today with news from the land of the Rising Sun about our favorite (and final?) MAN IN SUIT, and the upcoming film "GODZILLA: FINAL WARS".

As if it weren't crazy enough for Toho to hand the director's chair for the so-called "Last Godzilla Film" over to Ryuhei Kitamura (VERSUS, ALIVE, AZUMI)...

...And to make it even nuttier, it'll be an all-out monster bash featuring an unprecedented number of friends and foes, old a new: Gigan, Rodan, Minya, Mothra, Kamacuras, Kumonga, Manda, Ebirah, Anguirus, King Caesar, Hedorah the Smog Monster, and the mysterious new (or is he?) "Monster X"...

...But today's news is out-of-the-ballpark: GODZILLA VS.... GODZILLA?

Yes, according to Yahoo! News Japan (clickable here!) and Sponichi News, the latest Godzilla will face "Zilla", the 1998 Devlin and Emmerich creation who is better known amongst hardcore Godzilla fans as GINO: Godzilla In Name Only. And according to the news, it will indeed be "Man In Suit vs. CG". The "decisive battle" is said to take place in Sydney, Australia, and will leave it annihilated. Rumor is that the film will actually premiere here in the U.S. in late November or early December. And big-screen Godzilla fans should definitely check out www.sfgodzillafest.com for details about the Bay Area's GODZILLAFEST, 7 Days, 20 films and more, from Nov. 17 - 23 2004 in San Francisco.

Now if they'd only throw Ray Harryhausen's stop motion Ymir into the mix, we'd know which FX technique was truly supreme!

My brother is a Godzilla freak (he has EVERY zilla flick) and he prays that the real deal (Gojira!!) annihilates GINO (Emmerich's CG garbage).

I actually thought Emmerich's Godzilla was OK.. I mean..its not the worst movie ever, but his Godzilla looked too much like my friend's iguana.

Too bad this may be the final Godzilla film.. I hope to see tons of battles and that the franchise ends on a high note.

They always say that whenever a new Godzilla film is made. They may wait 5 years or so after this one is produced, but I'm sure there will be a "Godzilla 2010" flick and several more made after that.

Thats true.. but I remember reading something about the recent stuff not making much money and that younger kids don't care much about the big G (how dare they!). I suppose its the older fans keeping the franchise afloat. Though the site (aint it cool.com is where I read that) could be wrong anyways.

I know that the whole rubber suit thing has some charm to it, but I wonder if Japan would ever make a CG Godzilla. Not necessarily live action either, but a full on CG movie. Guess its too much in terms of cost for japanese movie studios?

They could do like a "Power Rangers vs Godzilla" flick that would introduce him to the Fox-Kids crowd and give the Big G to a whole new audience.

The movie would be crap, for sure, but it would be the crap of greatness.
