This makes me think of another point - interracial dating.

Ghetto women don't want you if you're not "thug" enough, but at the same time, they get mad when you date someone who isn't black. You should have seen those girls hate when I went to my prom with my Hispanic g/f (now my wife).

It's like Richard Pryor said, "Black chicks look at you like you killed yo mama when you date a white woman". I fell in love with who I fell in love with - a nice intelligent young lady with a good head on her shoulders and worthwhile goals for the future.

    - Great topic, Brisco.

They are just mad because your wife kicks the shit out of them in the looks department.

  2. It is a good topic props indeed and I'm also glad your alright.

I've gone through all this many times. My houses/apts have been robbed 3 times and one attempted robbery for walking to my girlfriemds house of the time on ther other side of town. They had beef with my brother that fell victim to all tha t nonesense (sho was locked up at the time) and they wanted to take up with me.
We almost fought or you can say I almost got jumped (6 to 1) but one of them had actually been in my house a few tiems (pitty/soft heart I guess) so he calmed the other fools down and I never really seen them again. I was just as angry. On my way back home I took a knife from my girls kitchen just in case.

Also one time time my friend and I walked into crowded Wendys, got our food stood at the center of the resturant and looked for empty seats. And this kid that had to be like 15-16, we were like 20-21. Looks at at us with disgust, stands up and starts and arguement about us looking at him wrong, if want beef and that his set will ride on us. I nearly lost it on him but he maneger jumped in and so did a few costumers and they got thrown out for causing a ruckus.

    It's beyond rap music though.

  3. Truth is what it is. I earnestly wonder what it will take before the stupid black people in this country wake the fuck up and realize what idiots they've turned themselves into.

As far as black women go, no one wants to marry a psychotic pit bull with a bunch of daddy issues. Turn down the 'tude and actually try being....oh I dunno....FEMMINENE and maybe you won't spend the rest of your life alone and bitter.

Yeah, but I was thinking of a town like huntsville or sunridge. :S

I know all about Oshawa, my brother used to live there.

  6. As long as Outkast and Kanye are outselling Lil' Jon and Puffy then I'm cool. Mainstream hip hop looks to be turning a corner.

I come from the most multicultural city. Personally, I think the world would be a better place if racism were erradicated from the face of the planet. That said, I hate a lot of black people.

The culture of ignorance, irresponsibility, intolerance and idiocy run prevalent in popular black culture. It makes me sick. I listen to hip-hop, I grew up on reggae, but I realize that these genres add to this culture. Unless you have your head on straight, and acknowledge that you don't fucking live in the boroughs, Chicago, the poor parts of the south, and that, in fact, you live in a middle class neighborhood in the middle of Canada, you'll adopt the psuedo-gangster/thug ideals extolled in these songs.

I grew up never really fitting in with black people, not even my family. Is it because I speak English properly? Is it because I value my education? Is it because I enjoy things that aren't characteristically 'black' (whatever the fuck that is)? Who the fuck knows. I'm different, so I'm a fucking outsider.

Not only that, but working retail I've come to dispise a lot of black customers (the thugged out kind). When they aren't asking me for a deal, a hook-up, or something else, based solely on the fact that I'm black and should 'help another brother out', they're trying to rob me blind. Each time I've been robbed it's been by a thugged out/wanna-be gangsta. The two times I've caught them (I've been robbed four times, three times by the same people; and, no, mall security or the cops don't do shit), they either challenge me to a fight or call me a 'white-washed-nigger'.

And, yes, I'm angry (the same fuckers tried to rob me again tonight).
Brisco, this is a great post. I'm impressed by your frankness and honesty. I feel for ya, pal.

Still, I don't know why you thought people here might view your post with distain...there's nothing racist or made-up about it. Racism pisses me off, because it's born out of ignorance and stupidity. Every race out there, white, black, asian, whatever, has it's poor examples, but judging the entire race by those people is not the way to live your life. Judge a person by what's in 'em, not by how they look.

That said, stereotypes wouldn't exist if there weren't people out there perpetuating them every single day. Everything Brisco says is true, and I feel the same way...I love my black brothers, it's niggers I can't stand.

I respect Cos for having the balls to speak the truth. Maybe Brisco should write him a letter, they can be pen pals.

Fixed. I know you're in Canada, but that's still American culture.

Really, though, the blame doesn't rest with hood-rich, one-hit rappers; the worst perpetrators of the stupid culture in this country are the people who raise their kids to be intimidating and not to get along with other people because everyone is supposedly out to get everyone else. It's divisive and ignorant and only contributes to racial hatred.

The thing is that there seems to be three levels of Hip hop as it is today. There is thug crap, which is the most repetative and unoriginal. I say this because at this point, its like white noise and I wont even work to differentiate between tracks on a thug album half the time

There are party anthems, which is where guys like Lil John make their bread and butter. These are ok sometimes because you want a good rhythem to move your behind through life sometimes. Unfortunately these get played out like a Joystick at a SNK bodega cabinet. Short life span and all

Then theres the good stuff that realy seems to be crafted out of love, and the spirit of originality. I wont say that these categorys can be clear cut and that a person that is delegated to one category wont work as hard as another, but this is how the industry looks from afar. At least from where I stand.
