The point I was trying to make from the start was that this was NOT a religious thing and that rather living conditions, geographical history and sociology are the decisive factors in terrorism.

That being said, from the description of the book it looks like there is lots I can agree with her on.

This is what is so intelluctally despicable about much of the Left on the issue of terror. The Islamo-fascists are not misunderstood, they have no right to their native culture of racism and terror, their hate for modernity is total and it must be stopped.

Who would make excuses for these anti-modern, anti-Enlightenment pieces of trash? Who could?

The very ppl most threatened by Islamo-fascism. The multi-culturalism > everything, do-it-if-it-feels-good Left. Individual rights have no place in an Islamo-fascist society. Neither does democracy, women's rights, homosexuality or any other freedom that flourishes in the civilized world.

But the Left will not be moved. "Civilization is to blame." "It's the Zionist's fault." "We supported the Shah." Apparently the terrorists can't help themselves as it's either a big Jewish plot to implicate them OR we've forced them to become what they are (what a racist notion; the terrorists had no choice but to become what we made them, they couldn't help themselves, the poor, poor creatures; in this scenario they don't even have moral actor status as we bear total blame).

Look, folks, the whole situation is effed up. Everybody involved is wrong. I don't care what the Palestinians think justifies their actions, they are wrong. Israel is wrong for whatever they deny the Palestinians and retaliating. When you kill innocent people you are wrong, and when you retaliate for the killing of the innocent people - even if it's against the perpetrators - you are wrong. Those immature human beings over there CLEARLY cannot handle this situation by themselves and need a higher governmental power to come in and arbitrate. Even then, nobody will be happy. It makes no sense. In addition, nobody on here is going to change their mind about it.

So shut the hell up and let's get back to the friggin' point of this thread: the Chechans and the DEAD KIDS. Christ.
