Need help in decision to get an Xbox

Shidoshi, I'm not going to call you a gay asian guy but give it a rest. He's was going to buy and has boughten an Xbox. I think you disliking Xbox (which is kind of bizarre because it is an awesome system) is a bit lame. This isn't GameFAQs, hating a system is.

As for Xbox, you have to try the following:

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (Best RPG this generation)
Splinter Cell or Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow
Fable
Burnout 3 (Amazing racing experience. And I don't use the term experience lightly)

If you're looking for FPS obviously Halo is the way to go, but The Chronicles of Riddick were great too. Also, try Crimson Skies for an amazing flight combat game.

I'm asking this as a serious question and not a flame, though it probably sounds like the latter: has Square produced any good non-FF RPGs for PS2? Or any good non-RPG games for PS2 at all?

You probably bought 3 of the worst games you can get for your starting games.

Metal Gear Solid 2 is an absolutely horrible port. JSRF is an awful, awful, awful sequel that doesnt deserve to wipe the ass of the original, and Tony Hawk 2X... well that was a good game... like 4 years ago.

A better bet wouldve been to take the $15 you spent on all those and buying Freedom Fighters or Deathrow or Panzer Dragoon Orta.

But, in any case, its good to see one more Xbox owner. w00t!

I'm playing through MGS2:S right now and you know, I'm just not seeing how it is a horrible port. Gameplay seems to be dead on and graphics the same if not better. Way to many extras to even count, so where did they go wrong? Or are you just not a fan fo the series, cause honestly, aside from a complicated plot, the game is pretty flawless on the box.

The reason I did not opt for the PS2 is cause I had one a few years back and it broke and I wanted to try something new. I will be missing MGS3 though. Any possibility of it coming to th box later?

i never understand these threads. do some people simply have review sites blocked from their computers? because a review is an opinion, and asking here what is worthwhile is the same thing....an opinion. so how many times do we have to do these? and everybody gets all bitchy and the arguing starts.

Everyone I know that has both systems barely touches the PS2 anymore unless it's Japanese or 2D fighters. That will tell you something, which system is dominate.

What the f**k? The only nonsensical thing I've said in this thread was my original post, and that comes more from my dislike for Microsoft than any sort of "gay asian" stuff. The rest of what I've said has either been defending the fact that the PS2 has quality non-Japanese games, which it does, and listing reasons that I enjoyed JSR Future.

You people are a broken record. You can't think of anything intelligent to say, so you just call somebody a "faggot-chan" or whatnot. And I love that you're calling out my dislike for Xbox when this forum is OVERRUN with moronic GameCube - and PS2, but not to such an extreme - bashing by people who are on the Xbox's dick. The difference is that I fully admit the Xbox is a great piece of hardware and it has some great games. A lot of them aren't for me, though, because they remind me of PC-style games, and I typically don't like that kind of stuff. I don't, however, use that as an excuse to call the system "gay" or the people who like it "gay."

The xbox has tons of crap games, so dont be scared if it takes you a while before you find a few good games. It took me over 6 months before I accepted the xbox and both emulators and the xbox media center helped in the process. I still mostly use it for movie playback! ;D

I concur! I only got MGS2 last month and it is still some of the nicest graphics I have seen on xbox! Really well-produced game.

I didn't like MGS2:Substance on Xbox because of the slowdown in the beginning and the controller.

There are crap games for all systems. Always has and always will. It's a fact of life.
