Thread: The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion

  1. The gold coin will be mine. Oh yes, yes, it will.

I love the idea of real-world counterparts to make-believe items -- bringing fantasy elements to tangible life. Next stop, Dark Cloud 2's Monica. [edit]: (in the leopard bikini )

I'm forking out the extra dough for the collector's edition. Extras like the guide and the coin remind me of the pre-EA Origin and all the cool things they used to include. I wonder how the Septim will compare to the Codex coin packed with Ultima 5...

  3. Is it real gold?

    Your e-penis grows an inch.

  7. Blog from videogame writer who played it, and the guy is not impressed:

    http://blog.wired.com/games/index.blog?entry_id=1422030

He was playing the 360 version. Here's the thing though, according to this thread:

    http://www.ga-forum.com/showthread.php?t=88338

The 360 version runs better than the PC version.

So it looks like Oblivion is a huge resource pig that bites off more than it can chew. What a surprise! Im predicting there's gonna be lots of dissapointed gamers by the end of March.

He took some undeserved flack for his opinion. I'm taking his article with a grain of salt, though. He never played Morrowind, so he can't make any comparisons. He also got some things completely wrong. He mentions that the game is entirely first-person (with no third-person view at all), which is blatantly incorrect. I do believe him about the pop-up, framerate, and loading, but I wonder how it all compares with Xbox Morrowind.

I still think that's one of the best previews of the game so far, especially for people who didn't play Morrowind. For those of us who HAVE, I think 1up's preview is the most detailed about the differences between Morrowind and Oblivion.

I'm shocked, SHOCKED that a Bethesda game takes more resources than most computers have at the moment! Such a thing has never happened before!
