That or EA just "persuaded" them with free swag... also money. Fight Night 3 is supposedly really addictive fun, though, which is the best area a video game can find itself in.Originally Posted by Prince Planet
the holidays arent going to be in? thats kind of dissapointing, horse armor seems somewhat silly since you cant fight on horseback anyhow, but i like games with holidays, in ac it expanded the game for me, and since i plan on playing ob for a very long time, it would have been a nice mixer.
as for the score, review scores are meaningless to me, im getting it, but i guess its nice to know that these fine "objective" journalists like it too, guess occasionaly im in agreement with poorly disguised pr monkeys.

btw The Outfit got a 8.5 from OXM (something about bad a.i.) & College Hoops 2K6 got a 8.0

The thing about the Fight Night score is that they make a big deal on their cover about how it's the first 10 they ever gave out.
Think about that.
Halo didn't get a 10, neither did Halo 2.
Ninja Gaiden nor Ninja Gaiden Black.
None of the GTAs, PGRs, Splinter Cells - they gave it to Fight Night, which by all accounts is decent but gets old after a couple of hours but is getting attention as a purchase-validating graphics showcase. They're either:
A) Retarded
B) Shameless
Of course, this is not news.

I was going to let that slide, but...well done.Originally Posted by Yoshi
The thing is, Fight Night doesn't even constitute purchase-validatiion on the graphics front. The fighters (mostly) look great, as do the crowds/venues, but there are some ugly clipping issues, ghastly ring "babes", and a slew of other sub-AAA aspects. Great game, but yeah, no way a freaking 10 -- not to mention that I would be sorely disappointed if the game represented the pinncacle of 360 offerings.Originally Posted by StriderKyo

I really don't know what it means.
Don't ruin the magic for me.

There's a real good chance he would've had major problems with Morrowind (and don't get me wrong, the game does have major problems but it's all of matter of wether you overlook them) and in that case I shouldn't care at all what he thinks about Oblivion, because we obivously have different tastes in games and are looking for different things from the experience (polish is not at the top of my list).Originally Posted by Andrew
No, that's not an issue. It means he's experiencing it on its own merits, which is the proper way every game should be experienced. Unfortunetly this isn't possible for most reviewers. How should you trust his opinion? How does it matter, if anything it benefits everyone who is reading his stuff. It means that he's not being tainted by his hate for Morrowind, or his adoration for Morrowind.
Again, it's a blank slate. The game stands on its own. Him having a different taste in games is going to put you at odds no matter what, experience or no experience.
