To give Bestheda some credit, it seems anything being rendered close to your character looks very nice (i.e. that rock in this picture: http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y47/Xdrive/OB2.jpg).
It's pretty obvious that they did not get as much out of Oblivions engine as they thought they would, but this is by no means an ugly game (or even close to it), especially for a game with the largest open ended terrain ever created.

No see its at the max settings. And according to Betheseda the video card will let you play the game "as designed". It would run faster. But not look better. The VC is what's killing him, though. Upgrade that old thing and it should look/play ALOT better.
Yeah, but again, the problem with that is that the quality isn't uniform at all. I don't mind things in the distance being less detailed as long as the difference is handled in a way that isn't absolutely blatant, but here it is. When a game's graphics are all over the place like in that shot, the overall impression is a negative one.Originally Posted by BrAnDX105

You are also judging the games graphics from 3-4 mediocre quality images off of a single rig. Not with your very own eyes on your own rig or 360.Originally Posted by sethsez
This also is the very first time I've noticed that significant jump in detail loss, and this is after watching god knows how many high res videos of the game in motion. I completely understand your complaints from looking at those images, but from what I've seen in videos of the game, that significant loss of detail is far less apparent when the game is in motion.
How about we get a real answer. Mog, how does this game look in motion?

I don't think that's the case. I may be very wrong, in which case I'll pick up a 360 and TES4 for it, but from what experience I have with PC games the card can make all the difference with speed *and* quality. Of course I'm just assumuing that since morrowind looks better than some of those pictures the progression of technology alone means it CAN look better with a different setup/settings choice.Originally Posted by diffusionx
