Thanks a lot guys. This made my day. It was even more horrible than I remembered it. It was wonderful.

I don't even remember there being an ad. No one knew the game in my area, even the people at EB. I think I was the only one to buy it haha.Originally Posted by MrWhitefolks

Ladies and gentlemen of TNL, I now present to you the absolute best video game commercial of all time: Atari's "The Fly" advertisement from 1982!
Link 1
Link 2
Both links show the same commercial, from two different sources. The first one is a smaller file than the second, and is displayed at a lower resolution. The second file is higher resolution, but it's slightly distorted (stretched wide), while the first appears to be the correct aspect ratio. For that reason, you might want to try both links.
This is a two-minute ad that Atari ran in movie theaters (along with movie trailers, before the featured movie began). It's stylish and just plain brilliant, especially considering that it dates back to 1982. The commercial probably has more impact if you're familiar with the featured games, but even if you're not familiar with them, you'll enjoy it. It clearly came from a time when video games were games, and not "interactive stories" or some such convoluted garbage. Coincidentally, it came from a time when Atari was the dominant force in video gaming, and wasn't afraid to spend a few extra bucks on advertising to prove it.
Anyway, I've rambled on enough here. Just go watch the commercial.

The second link worked, but the first one just gives me sound. I was going to post a link to the atarimuseum vids, but I ended up with the same problem. Cool commercial btw.![]()
