That comparison doesn't work. It's like comparing Burnout to Ridge Racer because they both have cars.

  2. I dont enjoy any of Sega's racing games and I find them to be, much like Sonic the Hedgehog, NiGHTS, and many other Sega titles, to be amazingly overrated. Ive had about 100 times more fun with games like Ridge Racer V, WipeOut 3, Colin McRae Rally, and Project Gotham Racing. Last time I expressed this opinion everyone got sand in their vaginas over it, but, well, its good to see Im not alone in this. Even if the other person is MarkRyan.

Yeah, I like F-Zero and all, but nothing beats burning through Blade Runner scenescapes to Future Sound of London. They need to make another one of those games that isn't mediocre. Or on Playstation (yeah, I know that can't happen).

Reflections still exists making the Driver series although some members did leave earlier to form the developer Curly Monsters which made Quantum Redshift.

Formula 1 was made by Visual Sciences, a developer founded by an ex-DMA guy. They're still making games for EA I think.

So, it's not that most teams split away from them, they just went to other publishers. The internal teams were given the SCEE name.
Whoa. Neozeed the gaming encyclopedia comes up huge. Thanks, man. I didn't realize SotB and Blood Money were only published by Psygnosis. And I can't wrap my mind around the uninspired Quantum Redshift being done by (I assume) ex-Wipeout guys. Hall of light gives this outline of Psygnosis' history:

Bought by Sony in 1993 & played a major role in
the PS1's launch in 1995. In 1998, Eidos bought
    Psygnosis' European operations. Psygnosis' US
operations were folded into Sony's own development
    outfit, 989 Studios.

    It's a shame you aren't right.

Ridge Racer 4 is a much better game than V.

Blood Money was such a horrible shooter. Now I understand why such a crappy game came out of Psynosis's namesake.

Reflections was also behind Destruction Derby. One of my favorites, from the Playstation library.

Umm, Yes! Grand Prix mode is the reason to play Ridge Racer 4. Ridge Racer V should have included this, but it did'nt.

The music and visuals were stunning at the time, and it had a giant syphillitic penis for a boss. What's not to love?

Are you serious? I've never seen anyone say V was better than R4 - which, incidentally, I'd rate higher than any Sega racer ever except maybe (maybe) Daytona.

I was expecting Shadow of the Beast kind of visuals and sound, but ended up with a shallow shooter, that relied on cash to upgrade your ship. I still have that game sitting in my closet collecting dust. I may give it another run, when I break out the old Amiga 500 someday.

  10. I'd imagine both Blood Money and Shadow of the Beast have aged really poorly - they weren't really the best playing games (and were stupid hard).
