Thread: Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow

  1. Agree. There need to be more love for The One.

Jet was badass as Yu Law.

  2. Hey, he's nobody's bitch. You are his.

  3. Remember the fight on the top of the pyramid, with Yu Law beating the shit out of waves of climbing attackers?

    Remind you something in AVP?

  4. Yeah. It would have been cool of Yulaw activated his self-destruct device and blew up the entire prison.

I think he meant that it was sad because of the plight of Dr. Octopus...here was a man out to help mankind, and he was forced to watch as his beloved wife, who cared deeply for him despite his being a great big fatty, was impaled by a shard of glass and killed, a tragedy which was compounded by his mental possession by the very mechanical arms with which he had hoped to use to assist him not in murder and robbery, but in harnessing a great power source for the good of mankind. Plus, he had really, really bad diarrhea.

    That owned.

My favorite part was in the beginning, when Yulaw attacks the SWAT guys, and they're all moving in slow motion and he's going normal speed. He grabbed this one guy, tossed him across the parking garage, beat up a few others, then walked over to the guy he chucked while he was still airborne, and hook-kicked him to the ground. Teh bomb.

BTW, the funny thing about The One is that some things you'd think were CG weren't. Remember the little scanner doohickeys that the dimensional cops used, where a circular screen would unfold and all these little secondary screens would pop out on the side? I was watching the extras on the DVD and they actualy MADE that. The only thing that was CG about it were the read-outs displayed after the thing unfolded.

I must've missed the Doc Ock toilet scene. I wish my projectionist would stop cutting out scenes from the reel.

BTW, Spiderman 2 was awesome. FX wasn't as good. But the CG shouldn't bring the movie down, it was a good movie overall, unlike say, Matrix Reloaded...

That is fucking nuts. I need to get this DVD. I love behind the scenes type stuff.

That's why all the "making of" parts that was just some loser in front of a PC for the Episode 1 DVD was so =/
