Anyway, FACT: most of us here are just casual gamers who lead fairly normal lives and just happen to like chatting in the community with other people we've chatted with for 3+ years.

What is the dividing line between "casual" and "hardcore?" I mean, I spend a good amount of my income on games, and I play probably at least 2 hours a day, (From midnight til 2 a.m., after the day is over, unless I'm too tired.) but I frequently play more than that. I read game news and "obviously" post on this game board. I don't think I'm hardcore. (Click_Stick was fucking hardcore man. With those arcade boards and that commodore monitor playing every shooter ever and spending all his money on it.) I don't have any imports at all. (Sadly, because there are a bunch I want.) I DO have almost every system. Most people here have 2 of the 3 current systems at least, and I be most of us have played over 200 games in their lifetime. (Not completed, played.)
I think I'd describe this forum more along the lines of mzo. We're educated gamers, for the most part. We know a little more than the guy down the hall who's bought every madden game since 2000 and nothing else. And we care.
It's nice to have a group of people whose opinions I can respect, and who I can count on for knowledge, advice, and....dare I say it? Companionship?
...So diffusion, if you're looking for some...companionship...I'm here in Jersey.

Eh I think gamers I are learning that it isn't cool to be crazy insane into a game. Most of us all still put way to much time and money into games, but gone are the days of ranting about how awesome <insert old game here> is.

You only have to see so many 14 year olds talk on and on about how cool FF7 is to realize making a big deal out of a game you love, all the time, isn't cool if not annoying to others.

Of corse we still have the odd poster who acts that way, but they get over it, or leave.

Now if the people who go on and on about american games, or how dumb so and so is for liking so and so game that they don't like would grow up, everything would be just golden.

I just watched some movie called Wasabi with Jean Reno the other day. He had a Japanese daughter in the movie who, while really cute, was so fucking out of her mind and annoying that within 5 minutes of meeting her I would have wanted drown her in a toilet filled with a Taco Bell-fueled pool of diarrhea.
