Should I get Ikaruga for DC or Gamecube, do you think? Anyone here play both versions? Differences? ... Should I use the post search function, and stop being a lazy douche?
    You should visit http://sfkosmo.gamersgraveyard.com/treasure/games.html.

Also, I don't want to get into the differences between both version, but in the end they are totally irrelevent for your interests. The DC version isn't that expensive , but the GC is cheaper and easier to find, so get that.

DC version has the advantage of being a direct Naomi port, and is VGA compatible, and therefore easier to play in TATE mode.

the GC version has the price advantage, and an excellent practice mode.
A couple of people have noticed a very subtle difference or two from the arcade and DC versions, but it's not really a big deal.

    Buy both.

oh yea.. and play Gradius V right now. Trust me.

  5. 56k SHOCK!

    Great read man.

  6. Thanks for posting this, great read. There's a certain stubborn element to Treasure that reminds of Nintendo. I respect their idea that the GHA coop mode gives each player their own screen but there's benefits to a console version as well. I understand their attitude about the dev times of 3D games and that Guardian Heroes would only be in prep stages right now if it had been 3D, yet GHA is honestly a game that could have used a longer developement cycle. *-neo

Thanks. Think I'll get the GC copy for a quick fix now. I might get the DC version later. I'd like to pick up an old commodore 64 monitor to play games in TATE on. At first I thought it wasn't worth it, but hours of shooter playing with Click_Stick had me see the light. And keeping your tv right-side up and shortening the screen is just balls-crappy.

I'd play it now but...but I've got the xbox hooked up and 3 games to finish. And Pikmin 2 languishes in needs-to-be-finished land.
(Okay, that's sort of a lie, all my systems are hooked up to the three inputs, and the rest are lying around next to them.) I will get to it soon, probably by the end of the week. Then your high scores are all in jeopardy!

doh my, i didn't even know they had a Gradius review in this issue, let alone i havent read the Treasure article yet!

EDGE pages are wider than regular magazine, even wider than my scanner, hence the chopped sides.

    anyways, there you go...

EDIT: I couldnt resist the cover, SEXY SAMUS!!!
