When was the last time you saw someone on these boards going apeshit with love for a game designer at Capcom or SNK? Their games are better than Team Ninja's, and Itagaki still has rabid fanboys because of his support for Xbox.

There are just as many Treasure and SNK fanboys here as there are Itagaki ones. Hell, I'd say the latter is outnumbered atleast 2 to 1. Just because the Itagaki supporters here are more vocal doesn't mean they're more numerous. Also, if you're trying to convince me visual dogshit like SVC: Chaos somehow compares to DOA then you're delusional.

Also, where is all the anger at Miyamoto fanboys, who're clearly far and away the most numerous and probably most retarded? Dude, support who you want, but I was just asking how such a mediocre at best game like DOA gets everyone here so hot and bothered. Some people here would bend right over for Itagaki and he's just another developer... with a much shorter resume than most other developers who've been around as long as him. I don't care if he rehashes something, but fuck man, the second, third, and fourth time through you should make some signifigant improvement, not make the tits more realistic.

People didn't buy Ninja Gaiden for the tits. Yeah, Team Ninja puts work into making character models more realistic. So what? I challenge any of you to somehow show me all his games sole selling point are the digital cleavage.

A couple of things. First of all, Miyamoto is about a million times more deserving of praise than Itagaki. Miyamoto has made more than two games, has pioneered new styles of gameplay, and set video game standards. Itagaki has not.

And second, I don't see anyone on these boards sucking Miyamoto's nuts. Never have I heard such gems as, "Miyamoto, always doing it for the fans!" after the announcement of some inane feature in a game of his, or "Miyamoto can have my babies" after reading a quote of his.

And Miyamoto has never said that he could do a better job of making someone else's game.

The combination of lacking the warrant for praise and easily being the most obnoxious figurehead in gaming since Dave Perry makes all the Itagaki fanboyism extremely depressing.

Exactly. g0zen, I'm not attacking you but seriously.... the man has done two major games. One a side scroller, one a fighter, then rehashed each multiple times adding virtually nothing to DOA and I can't really comment on Ninja Gaiden as it's been so long. Miyamotto basically invented the platforming sidescroller, Boroguht the RPG to the mainstream vai a game like Zelda, has made adventure shooters like Metroid, psudeo strategy like Pikmin. The list goes on

Praising a man who has shown that he can turn the industry on its head with an entirely new concept or function in a game on multiple occasions make sense. I've yet sto see Itagaki do that. I'm not a Miyamotto fanboy, but like I said earlier, he's one of the people who've been around just as long as Itagaki, but done fuckloads more, and been much more humble about it.
