He wasn't saying that Miyamoto invented Metroid, just that Miyamoto put a lot of input into Metroid Prime to make it more of a first person adventure game rather than another first person shooter with a Metroid skin; Which is true.

On a side note, Zelda is not an RPG, was never an RPG, and should never be considered an RPG. It's the pure definitation of an adventure game. Please get this right.

Yeah, I didn't really want to throw that in but it was the first cart with battery backing which basically gave birth to the console RPG... Obviously games like ultima and whatnot were already on PC.
