Cell phones in the library

I have a cell phone, but most of the time its never turned on, no one would call me anyway, I tend to keep in touch with people either in person or over aim... no in between, its got to be one or the other for me I suppose. I keep the cell phone on me at all times just for emergencies, it does get you out of a bind many a time.

Well if you don't have a beeper or anything I can understand having it at your side at all times. Especially if you have anyone important near you, in case you get an emergency call. Personally I'd look at my phone, and most likely if it isn't in my contacts list, then I'd just off it a second (it'd be in silent mode, but you know how silent that actually is)

Happened to me a few days ago. I was in class and I accidently turned my phone on loud instead of silent. You guys can probably figure out what happened.

Cell phones are becoming more annoying as time goes on. I have a cell phone, but when mine rings or vibrates it doesn't light up like E.T.'s spaceship or sing the top 40. No one ever puts it on vibrate in my classes and they actually TAKE THE FUCKING CALL! I wish I were a professor so I can just tell students to go fuck themselves and get the hell out of my class.

As far as needing my cell phone goes, I've needed it since my mother called me at the arcade about 4 years ago. That was the most embarassing thing I've ever had to go through because the owner made an announcement like, "EXUSE ME (insert my name here), BUT YOUR MOMMY IS ON THE PHONE!" I never lived it down.

I agree though; it's bad enough people leaving their phones to ring at full volume, but when they answer them, that's just bad.

Well... I quickly turned it off and just proceeded on to try to pay attention to the lecture like nothing happened. I left the class like... a minute after though cause another friend of mines, who stepped out to talk to his girlfriend for a little bit about some drama he has with another student that was also in the same class, decided that he doesn't wanna stay there. I then bitched at my other friend who decided to be an idiot and called me to see if I was going to class during class time. This happened within the first five minutes of class and it was in the very back of a really large lecture hall though...

I have a cell, but only about 5 people actually have the number to it, and they constantly complain that I always have it off.

Having a cell does come in very handy at times, however.

Bottom line, if you're on campus turn the cell phone off. That way, you don't have to worry about forgetting to turn it on or off between classes or when you're somewhere that doesn't need the noise. If you have to make a call, go somewhere you know you're in the clear and make the call to them. Simple as that.

... deleted my post. ok, reiterate... That has happend in class to me, where idiots leave their phone on loud. or answer it. or loudly text message. (i had lovely story/rants for each incident) overall, I hate them.

I have it on vibrate all the time. and most people who call know to not call me when I'm at school cus I won't pick up and I'll yell at them later.

my internet is down, and I love my cell phone because it's my fucking lifeline right now. I have no other real way to communicate with people other than that, and my computer.
