Thread: Does anyone else think it's funny that EA Sports dropped the price of NBA Live 2005?

  1. Also, from what I understand, NBA Live is a piece of shit and NBA 2K5 is as good as ever.

  2. I've heard through the rumor mill, that Take-Two will have the option to buy Visual Concepts from Sega. How it ties into the whole publishing deal, I have no clue.

2K5 is as good as it's ever been, but Live is not garbage.

    Just look at the commercial.

They are trying to make it look so real, so lifelike, and the model has no fingers (he's got the glove hand), the audience looks horrible, hell the player model in general just looks like shit.

I laughed because this commercial was supposed to make me interested? It looked like garbage.

When it gets to that point VC will have established themselves in the video game sports arena to the point that people will know how good their games are. It will be a desperate attempt on EA's part to stop the bleeding.

I used to buy Madden every year, most of my friends did the same, this year we bought ESPN's games and nothing else. EA has to be feeling it. They still made money but not as much as they normally would have.

ESPN NBA 2K5 is the best one yet imo...

    Doubtful.

Look at the money. VC is not hurting EA's market share at all, and VC can't start charging 40 dollars for games and expect anywhere near the mediocre sales they have now. They can carve out a niche market, but that's all they are ever going to have.

As influential as you and your friends might think yourselves to be, EA isn't feeling anything other than a wad of money.

I don't find anything humorous about it. I haven't played NBA2K5 yet, but Live is pretty damn good this year.

  9. I havent played Live in quite awhile but everyone i talk to (casual gamers) are super pumped about the 2k5 series as a whole.

  10. Well, that settles that issue then.
