Weird, cutesy Japanese games. Japan is better at making them. Dating sims, train manager sims, horse racing/managing sims, pachinko games... Japan absolutely kicks the shit out of the west in these areas.

Microsoft Train Simulator and Railroad Tycoon 3 > Densha De Go! 17 or whatever other shit theyre peddling.

As for the other games... LOL! Who cares about those stupid things? Its like saying that Yoshi makes the best haggis, it still doesnt make me want to go to his house and try it.

How is EQ2? I tried to get into the beta but couldnt.

I'm not overly impressed. The class and quest system seems very similar to WoW, but it lacks the style of Blizzard's game. If I had to rank them, I would do it like this:

SWG/JtL
WoW
EQ2
FFXI

The one thing that impressed me with EQ2 is the character customization, which is a even better than SWG's, which is pretty thorough.

Nope. I'll take Majora's Mask over KOTOR anyday. I honestly don't understand the appeal of KOTOR one bit. Shitty graphics, shitty production values, shitty combat, shitty controls, shitty animation... That's supposed to be GOTY material? I'm alive in a very sad world.

No no, I totally agree with you. I bought KOTOR just for the hell of it (reviews and such) and I ended up taking it back within 4 days. I couldn't get through the first half hour without the game crashing on me or some random character telling me the death star was lodged in my ass. It was a boring, tedious game that I would never consider the end all be all of RPG's.

Yea, I know. I was sucked in. Anyways that was released well over a year ago and it was the last RPG I came close to finishing, and the only RPG I pur more than 20 hours into in the past 6 years. Anyways I was just commenting.

A lot of you guys wanted to talk about racing games being the only genre dominated by the West.

What about MMO, sports, FPS and RTS? None of these genres is even decently represented by the Japanese.

In my opinion. The best RTS game I've ever played, was Herzog Zwie. You can have your Warcrafts, C&C's and Star Crafts. Those games play so slow in comparison and don't compare to a good head to head match on Herzog Zwie.

I love Herzog Zwei too. I can't imagine a game with that as its title even being released these days, Damacy notwithstanding.
