I wasnt passing judgement against Herzog Zwei, which was indeed a fine game (10 years ago). Im passing judgement at your ridiculous assertion of the game's speed in comparison to Warcraft and C&C and Starcraft. Its utter lunacy.Originally Posted by gamevet
What you said about SC or WC not living up to Herzog Zwei in a head to head match is simply too stupid to comment upon (unless you count this as a comment).
Diff doesn't need to do ANYTHING to pass judgement, as few games are deserving of being even looked at by him.

Man, your comments about Diff in EVERY thread he posts in have really gotten annoying.Originally Posted by Jeremy

No... he hasn't taken over.
It's just that I have two now.
When I played C&C and Warcraft II, I had to ask myself: That's it? To me it was a step back, from what Herzog Zwie created. The sheer rush of missiles heading towards your mech, as you attempted to drop a tank on your oponents fortress, was one of the many memerable moments in the game. Then you had the strategy of hunting down your opponents mech, as he was about to drop off a unit. Leaving him without said unit and having to await for his mech to regenerate. You could use many strategies to win over your opponent. Taking all the bases, while your nemesis sat back and loaded up his fortress is one example. You could also take a base right outside of his and set up Jolly Rogers to strike him down as he flew over. Leaving your opponent to the option of sending out ground units to take the JR's out.Originally Posted by diffusionx
Warcraft and C&C relied on resource management, to further your units along. Herzog kept if pure and simple, conquer bases and make more money to create more units.
I'm sure there is probably more to those games, but from what I experienced, they did'nt offer enough initial substance to keep me playing.

I'm thinking you never really put alot of time into Warcraft, and learned all it's intricies. At high level play, it EASILY recreates the feeling Herzog Zwei created.Originally Posted by gamevet

Internet stalker? No. The convo turned towards Herzog Zwei, which is probably my favorite RTS game, and as usual, diff gave it more baseless bashing when I made my initial post. Warcraft games are okay, but I'd rather stick to Zwei for my RTS fix, it might not be as pretty, but it's a bit more satisfying. Also an "all games" brush is a bit broad, as some games become intolerable to play as you get further into them.
