They probably won't charge as much for their time and they'll have as much experience as that portablemonopoly.NET guy will anyway -- he's not responsible for making the afterburner, thus he isn't getting any beforehand. His first experience with it will be the shipment he gets from TL.
Oh brother, and HE'S the one I was planning on having do the installation for me
    omg TNL epics!

  2. Its sucks seeing you guys going to so much trouble to be able to see your GBA screen. I loved playing it at first, but I don't think I've even touched it in 3 months because of the hassle of trying to see the screen (and under good lighting conditions). If I want to play a handheld, I'll just play my Neogeo Pocket (which is fine by me), heres hoping Nintendo comes up with a solution.

i found a new place that would do it for $25 + shipping if you have the light already. all you have to do is send the light, your gba, and the payment to them, and they'll install it for you.

they will install the dimmer if you want them to, and they will also install a on/off switch [not included in the kit] for $5 more.

as for the washed out colors...its unpreventable as the light is not perfect and it will do that.

all i want is the reflective film to be near perfect with no bubbles, and unnoticeable dust.

they said they are backlogged about a week or so.

Whoa whoa.. I thought the on/off switch WAS included with the kit. The hell??

So you haven't gotten yours yet? If not, maybe I should cancel my getting one from you. My friend here in town ordered two, and he already his already, so he has one he can get me. If you still won't get yours for a week, that might not give me time to get it and have it installed.

im getting it tomorrow...i didnt forward you the email i got from UPS/TritonLabs?

  6. Sounds like I may be forced to install the dimmer then... I just don't trust the idea of having the light ALWAYS on, even out in the sunlight... I dunno.

  7. I thought the latest Penny Arcade was very apt.
    .

I was gonna have my dad install it, 'cause he's pretty handy with a soldering iron. But after reading about what a pain it is, I may just end up getting it done for me professionally or ordering a new one with the Afterburner already installed from lik-sang.com, and using the GBA I have now for the TV adaptor.
