Oooh, how exciting. Kind of weird how they don't have the same actor for the little boy.

Not very revealing, but I really liked the first one (the North American remake, as well as the Japanese original). The potential problem with this sequel is that much of the original revolved around the protagonists figuring out why the tape existed in the first place -- not a bad story for a horror movie. With that mystery is solved, it might be tough to come up with a decent plot to carry the sequel beyond the requistie shock scenes. I never read the Ring II and III books, but I suppose this sequel is drawing on them after a fashion. Regardless, I'm sure I'll still go see this.
"Fiends! Animals! Bastards!"
in actuallity they are NOT going off the 2nd or 3rd books as they were retarded.
thank god they're not as the jap sequels went with the whole advanced chickenpox virus w/goverernment conspiracy themes and whatnot. not to mention cloning and one victim giving birth through the chest to a physical representation of Samara/Sadako's character. > : P

They dont have the same Samara though, Daveigh Chase didnt believe it was worth her time to play her again, that it wasnt much of a role (or at least thats the "official" word on her not appearing in Two)
I thought the boy in the trailer looked the same, even though he is only shown for a second. As for Samara, I thought the first girl did a good job -- creepy fucking scowling kid.Originally Posted by RDM Brian

It'd be almost impossible for them to do a sequel based off of Ringu 2, because a lot of plot elements from Ringu 2 and 0 were used in The Ring. I'm curious as to how they this will turn out.Originally Posted by MrWhitefolks
First Ring, american version was decent horror flick. Better than what I expected, but not scary (at least to me). Teaser for 2 looks interesting. Lets see where they take the story this time around.
And The Grudge remake, looks much scarrier than this.
