Yes, and it's awesome. I played the bejesus out of it at E3 with the dual guncon2 setup (didn't care for it as much with just one gun). If I could afford 2 guns and the game I'd be all over this.

  3. screen flash is not so bad. Instead of a bright flash it is like a light fog, very cool.

I've read that there IS progressive scan support for Crisis Zone (in CZ's manual, don't know about the other GC2 games myself).

This version is actually harder than the arcade- I can whip the arcade game with ONE credit repeatedly, but blow the credit stock on the PS2 version. The enemies seem to shoot a little more accurately in general.

Using a GunCon 2 in place of the arcade's simulated MP5K is a small compromise for getting the game at home, especially when the graphics are spruced up just so. The machine gun shooting sound is nice and loud, IMO making up for a lack of recoil.

Just wait until you try Crisis Mission #7. You CANNOT use your shield- if it's any consolation, you will not need to reload there.. I've cleared the normal difficulty for all 7 CMs using the Machine Gun, but the other weapons still are locked.

I find the flash a tad bright, but I'll need to adjust the TV settings (it says to dial down the brightness until you cannot see the 8, the way mine is set I just barely see it).

Combos actually seem to help you score higher on the PS2 version.

  5. I wouldn't advise trying to shoot down the helicopter boss' missiles- they come at you quite faster than in the arcade version. If you're going to shoot down Edge's Naginatas- make it quick. Grenades are also sped up a little.

When you try the Grassmarket District scenario in Story mode (you can try this after you've finished Garland Square), the enemy will target you much more frequently. GD has 3 stages and is practically Crisis Zone 2 thrown in for free.

  6. Just got it tonight and put in a little play time, blowing through all of stage 1 and most of stage 2. Not great progress but it's been months since my last light-gun game and I can feel the reflexes waking up.

Great fun, and still just about my favorite light-gun shooter. I'm looking forward to seeing what other goodies Namco tossed in here beyond the obviously beefed-up graphics.
